The last day of 2005

Wow! I can hardly believe a whole year has flown right on by, I have lived in Texas for a year and 20 days! Lots has happened this year, I moved from my wonderful home in California and came to Texas to be near my then boyfriend, after finally finishing college, and he took me on a cruise to Mexico as a graduation gift, and then because I graduated mid-year I had to return to California in May for my college graduation, which was a very special event. and in July Rob and I got married. The rest of the summer was spent waiting for my brother and sister in law to move out of our house as he had joined the military, and got stationed in Alaska, when they finally moved out Rob and I were busy moving all our stuff around and we got to move into our master bedroom...yippee! Then, the holidays were here and the rest of the year went flying by!

I got a lot of stitching in, not as much as I would have liked, but I did finish five rather large pieces, all but two took me over 60 hours to complete. I found all these wonderful blogs about my favorite hobby, and they all inspire me to pick up my needle, just about on a daily basis. And they have finally gotten me to sit and make a blog up myself.

These blogs and the people who have written them have been very important to me this year, as it was a hard year of adjusting, moving to a place where I knew practically no one, and living a new life that at first I had a hard time accepting, but after finding a part time job, and reading these blogs, and then starting a blog myself, and keep on stitching has helped me overcome a feeling of homesickness and lonliness and a slight depression at the beginning. And now, where ever I may go, or move to because of DH job, I know I have "friends" both in the blogging world, as well as in the projects that I will stitch.

So, Happy New Year everyone! I hope you have a very stitchy new year, with lots of Happy Dances and new stash! May the frogs stay away! And I also hope you have a safe year as well.

Happy stitching in 2006!

Friday already?!

Wow! Where did this week go? I can't believe I haven't posted since Tuesday. Well, I have just been putting my first stitches in on "The Abbey", and also working my way through the Birdhouses of America Unite. Which is coming along quickly.

So much for Dare to Dream and November Quilt and Snow Valley express. I don't even remember the last time I worked on those pieces! See? This is why I have a ton of WIP's and hardly ever happy dances! I love to start new pieces and when I do, I forget about other pieces. Oops.

This year, though I am hoping to be different, but I have so many new ones I want to do this year!! I think I need to get more WIP's finished, before I start any more new ones! But it is so hard! I really should try to get a rotation down, that way I will be practically guaranteed to get maybe at least two finishes done this year! That was a joke, really.

Rob is doing really well with his Eagle, he works on it quite a bit.

Well, not much else to write about. I have about 600 stitches in on "The Abbey", and I, just this morning, finished pulling all the threads I will need for that one. I think I will try to get some progress pictures in later, maybe tonight or tomorrow.

It worked!

I can see my blog online again. All this morning and right now when I wrote that last lil' blurb about my blog not working, I couldn't pull up my blog page. It was just a blank screen. but it is fine now! Thank goodness!

Well, I have mostly been working on my BAU piece, it is really coming along, I am at hour 5 now on it, so I will post a picture, soon, I promise, and Rob is doing really well on his eagle. It just like a brown splotch of stitches right now, but he is really going to town on it.

Well, today I finally got all the threads I need to do "The Abbey" so I feel like I can officially start it now if I wanted to, although I still need to pull the threads for it. I have them all now though, so I just have to put the threads on my thread cards, and then I will be ready to start it! I want to wait unitl the first, but! I may not be able to wait that long, I have been anxious to start this one practically since I got the chart! and I even started it once and totally messed up, so now that I have all the threads...I am ready to go!

Not much else going on but that. I think tonight while Hubby and I watch Dawson's creek, on DVD, I will pull the threads I need for that one! in fact I think I will start it right now! bye!

troubles in cyberland...

i'm having rpoblems bringing up my blog page, I wonder if anyone else is. hmm...i am going ot try replublishing the whole thing and see if that helps. bye!

Bye Bye Christmas! Hello New Year!

Isn't it weird, how every year we fly through the holidays? I was counting down the days until Christmas, and all of a sudden! It's over. The music, the stitching, the buying, the baking, the hustle the bustle, the magic...gone. I don't know why I am writing this post this way, almost depressing! But! I can look forward to a New year, with new goals, and It feels like a fresh start. I have my lists ready of the things I want to complete this year, including goals, and stitching, and "resolutions" I am not one of those resolution setter people. I make goals for things i want to accomplish, but so many times resolutions, such as "I want to eat healthier this year", or "I wan tot loose weight" this year, or whatever...they only last me the first week of the year, and I decide "Heck with this!" Maybe I am just not disciplined enough?

So, I have decided to make goals for my hobbies, if they aren't reached the world will keep spinning on it's axis, but making goals that are fun are well...fun.

Well, last night Rob and I made a wonderful Christmas dinner, with Turkey, twice baked potatos, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole, and crescent rolls. Then we stayed up late watching a dvd. We finally went to bed at around 2 in the morning. He worked on his eagle project on and off all day,a nd I worked a bit on my birdhouses, but spent much of the evening putting all my new flosses on bobbins, but I have to put them in their boxes still. I guess I will do that and settle down with my birdhouses again. bye!

MERRY (AND VERY) STITCHY CHRISTMAS!!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!

Well, it is now almost 20 minutes til 12, and Hubby and I have opened all our gifts! We opened a BIG gift from my parents yesterday as they sent it priority/sign for mail. They got us....Cell phones! This is mine first ever, and hubby's third, but we haven't had the $ to get them and so my wonderful parents put us on their family plan and is footing the bill for a two year contract! So, now I can call home for free, cause of the free mobile to mobile, and It is so nice! now Hubby and I are going to cut off our home phone, and get Clearwire internet. YIPPEE!!! NO more dial up! My parents are the best! But that is NOT all they got us! They sent us 4 boxes with 6 large pressies for each of us, plus a box full of stocking stuffers!

I loved the gifts hubby got me, though...
-DMC aplenty! (50 skeins!) He is so sweet! He knew I had a list of DMC that I needed to get, and he found it and went out and got them for me!!
-Season 2 of Gilmore Girls
-season 1 of Dawsons Creek
-a 50$ gift certificate for starbucks! (I LOVE my coffee!)
-a 25$ gift certificate for Batha nd body works! (I love smelly body things, like wash, sprays and lotions)

Plus I got some gifts from some wonderful pen pals. I got a book of patterns from my friend, Beth! THANK YOU BETH! I LOVE IT! I like the colors on the black Aida!
I got some stationary, and good smelly candles from a pen pal in Australia! Thank you Heidi!
And I got two fleece sweatshirts with Eeyore on them from my parents! I have wanted a fleece sweater for a long time!
A plaque with a "To Daughter" poem on it. (From Parents)
A large package of different flavored gourmet coffees(From Parents)
A stuffed tiger that you can put a recorded greeting on it, my mom thought it would be fun for rob to put a sweet personal message on him when he leaves thsi summer.

I know I got more stuff, but those are the big gifts! I was so spoiled!

And this morning after we opened our gifts Rob picked up his Eagle stitch again, and so I pulled some of his threads for him, and then I started putting some of my new threads on bobbins, but sitting there watching him stitch got to me, so I decided to write here real quick, then go and stitch too. I think I will put some thread on the bobbins later tonight while watching one of my new DVD sets.

Sigh. well, I am going to go call the parents! and then sit down with one of my WIPs, and relax before it is time to start dinner.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! I HOPE YOU HAD A WONDERFUL JOYFUL HOLIDAY!

Saturday, December 24, 2005

Uh oh...

I think I have the startings of a new stitcher among us! Here is Rob's completed first stitching piece:
And! He is ever so proud of it, because he put the "2005" in ALL by himself! "Look ma! No pattern!" I think he did a wonderful job, he is freaking out because the aida i had him work this on was 11 count, so the coverage is poor. But for a first piece, I thought the larger the fabric the easier, but! You should see the back! It is not bad! he dragged a few threads, but I think it is pretty
good And! He has already picked out his next project:

He is doing both pictures: first the flying one, then the one of just the head. But he said he won't work on them at the same time, like I have soemthing like 30 projects going! So,there yah have it! My hubby is a stitcher! I have to go pull floss for him! Bye!

some pictures...

Ok, i decided that before i sit down to get into "Red Lily" the book i am currently reading, I would put these pictures up of Birdhouses of America Unite. note: the first one is the picture off the front cover of the pattern book, and it is made into a pillow, so it looks kinda funky, that is why.
And here is my progress, I think it is about an hours worth of work on it:
That is the roof of the house on the left that says Home sweet home, and the beginnings of the vine/leaves above it. I think it is going ot be cute! Alrighty, back to my book! For some reason, I have not done any quality reading on it lately, so I decided to get some reading done today, before I get elbow deep in flour and sugar again to make more cookies! Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

I did it...

I started Birdhouses of America Unite. And as thought, It is a quick stitch. I need to upload some pictures here, soon. As I have noticed I have not done so in awhile. Remembering to post pictures is a hassle, it is just because the scanner is in my hubby's computer room, and so to work on my own computer I have to go into his room, scan my item, and save it to a disc, then come into my office and upload my pics. from the disc. It is just time consuming, I guess, and I just don't want to do it. I will soon, though.

Hubby rented a new video game from Blockbuster the other day and spent all night playing it, he finally came to bed at 6 this morning, freezing as a 6'2 ice statue! He tried to cuddle up to me and...brrr... And for some reason, the house does seem a bit chilly this morning. But with gas prices inflating, we had an enormous gas bill this past month, so we are trying not to run the heater too high. Man, and we thought we were in the clear after summer, turning off the AC. Our Electric bill was through the roof, and to the moon, all through the summer! Next summer if Rob's away for his job, I am getting a window unit in my room, and I will live in there, and forget running the central AC.

Anyway. So, hubby will probably spend half the day in bed, seeing as how he didn't go to bed until 6 this morning, and so that leaves me to...stitch! Or read! Or do some more baking! I made three batches of sugar cookies, one plain to put frosting and sprinkles on, one with sugar and cinnimon sprinkled on them, and one with MnM's in them and a batch of brownies yesterday. Today I will make chocolate chip cookies, Reeces Pieces cookies, and Peanut butter cookies. I think that is it. Well, I am off to get some work in on Birdhouses of America Unite...which from this point on be referred to as BAU. Alright, wish me luck on my baking.

A new start?!

Well, I have to admit, that pulling out stash can be enabling! I have the want to start another new project! It is "Birdhouses of America Unite" It is a really easy stitch, or it looks like it would be. A bit smaller than some of my other 2006 "to do" pieces, It is actually sorta folk artsy, which I have never really been into, but have been looking at some things that others have been doing, and I am starting to get intrigued by it. So! I...made a working copy of it, and I will now pull my floss, and fabric, BUT! I will not start it! Yeah right! Who am I kidding?

I always find that when I am in a stitching slump, starting something new is a way to get back into it! so, here it goes! Oh, and I wanted to write that event hough I thought yesterday was going to go really slow, it didn't It FLEW by! and now i don't have to go back to work for...77 hours! alrighty, everyone, I am going ot go start this birdhouse thing now. oh that's anothert hing, I am really getting into birdhouses lately. Wanting to stitch them, I mean, there are already several pieces I want to do that have birdhouses in them, So, anyway, off I go!

Oh yeah, and Christmas showed up on my doorstep last night with 4 rather large boxes form my parents, FULL of pressies for Hubby and I! I am so excited! My mom even sent bags with stocking stuffers and she labeled one for me to put into Rob's stocking and one for him to put in my stocking! I am starting to get really excited now!

Off I go to get some stitching in!

Thursday, December 22, 2005

Yes, 8 more hours, then- freedom!

I only have to work 8 more hours today then it is off for the holiday weekend, until Monday at 2 in the afternoon. I am hoping to get lots of stitching in. DH went to Blockbuster and rented a new game so he will be busy playing that all weekend, I am sure, so I will have plenty of me time.Yesterday I got about an hours worth of work in on Dare to Dream. In about two more hours I will post a progress piccy.

I really appreciate everyone who is reading my blog, and who have left comments. It is so nice to know people are reading! Hi Becky!

Well, Alot of people are going to be busy over the holiday weekend, and even until after the New Year, so the posting on alot of blogs are and have been slowing down, which is fine, I just can't wait unitl everyone is back up and going again, I am sure there will be lots of reading about holiday cheer and hopefully some progress pictures, and stuff.

I have a question, and I don't know if anyone could answer it for me, but I was wondering about Julianna at Cross Stitch Ramblings. I have her as not posting since Nov. 13th, Did she move her site and I don't know? Or has she just not posted for awhile? I hope you're alright Julianna! Hers was one of the first blogs I got really into.

Well, I have to work at noon today 12-8 so I am hoping it goes fast. It is so wierd, that when you think time is going to go by fast is DRAGS, and when you think it is going to DRAG it flies!

Like yesterday I had a short 5 hour shift, and I thought "Oh goody, a short shift today, it should go quick!" Yeah right! I felt as though I had been there for a week by the time I got out of there last night, but the day before, I worked a full shift and time FLEW bye! Gosh, I am probably jinxing myself here, but I hope today is one of those days that flies by. I am so looking forward to my three days off to enjoy the holiday. I have no idea how I got so lucky, but I am so glad I did!

Well, I am off to stitch. I don't know on what yet, I am starting to get the blah's about Dare to Dream. I think it is about time to switch it out. But then I look at it, and think, "Oh I'll just finish up that one little section" and then before I know it I can't put it down! I am starting to get excited for next year, and all my new starts! I think I am going to be so busy with my stitching that when hubby deploys the time should fly by! Between writing to him everyday (2-3 times a day) and stitching, I should be set, plus I will probably go to California for a few weeks, and visit family and friends for a bit. I will have to make two trips, one to visit family in Southern Cali, and one to visit my "college family" in Northern Cali.

Well, I am gonna get off this computer and get going!

Oh my gosh! It IS the sun!

Finally the sun comes out and todays high is supposed to be like 60 I think! YIPPEE! I hate it when it is dark and cold out, I am much more the sunny girl, shoot, being from California, can you blame me? Well, only two more days of work until I get my three day holiday break, for the Christmas weekend. Fri-Sunday,and I don't go in until 2 on Monday afternoon! So, I am looking forward to that, lets see, only 12 more hours of actual work until I get my little holiday! My hubby is so lucky, he gets all next week off! I am excited to be able to spend some time with him then. Oh, and he keeps telling me that I need to mention on here that he does do other crafts as well, he has made us some plastic canvas needlework things: a tissue box cover, and some coasters shaped/stitched like American flags. He also made us an ornament for the tree with a styrofoam ball and sequins. It is really pretty, but the stryrofoam ball isn't as tightly packed as could be, so the little pins holding the sequins keep falling out. But it is still very pretty. So! I am a very lucky girl, I have a crafty hubby!

Well, yesterday I didn't get much stitching done. I found an ornament kit that you can buy for 99 cents at wal-Mart that my mom bought for me to do for her and I forgot about it until just yesterday, so I sat right down to get it worked on so hopefully I can send it off in their box for Christmas well, I guess i should never hurry! 1) I mis- counted somewhere 2) I used the wrong color thread in one area. The chart for it is not the easiest to read, and the color code is ...wierd. They have the symbols on a different place as the color numbers for the thread. So, like you find a symbol, it gives you a color (ie:dark red) then you have to look on the back side of the chart to find out which dark read they are talking about, in DMC numbers. I don't know, somehow I goofed, so I can't decide if I want to start over or just work through it, I mean if I don't tell anyone, who's gonna be the wiser? (chuckle) Oh! wait! I just published this info on the internet...nah, no one will know! Well, the recipient won't know, she doesn't read my blog, and the only reason is because I have piccies of her and dad's birthday gifts on here, and I don't want them to see them, so I haven't told them I blog. I have been tempted to go back and edit those entries so that they can read it, but I haven't yet. Hmmm...? Well, so there you have it! That is all the stitching I did yesterday, depressing actually. I can't count and I can't tell "drk red" from "vry drk red"! hmmm...

Christmas shopping...

Yes, I finally did it! I went Christmas shopping and bought my hubby his pressies last night! So, I'm all done for the season, with less than a week left to go...talk about cutting it close.=) Well, I still have my baking to do, but I haven't had the energy to, what with being sick and all,and working all these crazy hours! I get home from work and just want to flop down with needle and thread and a movie. So, that is basically what I do. I did manage to get some Christmas cards out, though, haza for me! I basically just do the "Reply" thing, where when I recieve a card, I send one right back. It seems that since I have moved to Texas, I have become completely unorganized. And for some reason, have let my correspondance sorta wane. I used to be a wonderful pen pal, but have since sorta...I have become obsessed with my stitching, so everything else just goes by the wayside, It is quite sad, truly. Addiction...It's a hard thing to cope with. I would know, having gone to college and gottena degree in addiction studies so I can be a counselor for substance abusers.

BUT! I have to admit! I have my limits, I can behave when I walk into Michaels. I have proof! Yesterday! before going to the mall to shop for DH, he stopped so I could buy one thread that I needed for Dare to Dream. and He kept teasing me, saying "ONLY buy that ONE color!" So...I did. I bought a box of Christmas cards that were on sale for 5$, normally 8$, but, in the stitching aisle, I only got that ONE color. And! It is amazing, I had my list with me, I could have easily bought 20$ worth, but, I was good. I looked at the kits with longing, and I'm sure they had to call maintenance to that aisle to mop up the drool, but I made it out of there only spending 6$, and only one of those items was for stitching!

I keep reminding myself, that come March, I will be getting a bonus check from work, of over 200$, and hubby thinks that I am using it all on bills, he has got another think coming! Because that is what he wants to do with our tax return, and granted, it will be nice to be caught up and maybe a little ahead, but! come on now! What is the fun in that?! A girl has GOT to have her priorties! =)

Well, I would like to say hello to some friends: Hi Mandy! Thank you for linking me! I think you are the first to do so! YIPPEE! You made my day! And hello to Ann. Do I have you linked? I only remember blog titles, how sad is that? I mean, I know some names attached to blog titles but not many. So, if I don't have you linked then let me know! I have more blogs that I read everyday that are in my favorites bar on my PC, and not on my blog yet. Putting them all in can be...boring...? I hate data entry! I will get you all in there eventually!

Oh, and yes! I have to say a big HELLO! to my dear friend Beth, who wrote me a letter and told me she reads my blog everyday! It is truly nice to know that people are reading my blog. It is fun to share my obsession with others who also love stitching!

Well, on the stitching front, I have just been working on Dare To Dream. I actually am just about getting ready to put some stitches into the first wolf that is inside the border. The border has been so easy, and now it is time to get down to the nitty gritty, and do some real chart reading! The border was so easy because it was the same thing over and over, and so it was consistant, but now I have to start in on the picture of the thing. Which for all this complaining, I am actually excited about it! It seems like it is starting to pick up a bit now. I remember thinking "this is taking FOREVER" and now I can actually see some progress.

I haven't really worked much on any other stitching, just Dare to Dream. I am really stuck on it right now. I guess it is my anxiety at seeing some real progress on it that makes me just keep going on it, and not rotate it out. See? Rotations just aren't for me, I guess! Well, I guess I will get going and try to get some more time into my stitching, before going to work.

Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!

sick...not bad enough not to stitch!

Yes, I called in sick. I am such a whimp! I know! but, anyway, after I took a little nap, I decided to get down to business with dare to dream, and got 2 hours of work in on it! It is starting to look pretty good! I will post pictures at 20 hours! I think after I am done here I will get another hour in on it, I think. Not much else going on here. Just spending my sick day stitching. Oh and I watched Christmas with the Kranks, It was sorta dumb. funny in a way, but pretty rediculous overall.

well, back to dare to dream!
Oh! I have also "come up" with a design, I think. I bought a book called Christmas Ornaments last year, to make up christmas cards, well, I got 8 of the patterns done and they are hanging on my christmas tree, as i decided there was no way I would ever finish 20 cards for christmas. So, It seems like the book is somewhat devided into "Themes" one is a snowman theme, one a Santa theme, Noahs ark theme, and "Winter fun" theme, of animals palying int he snow. So, I am going to make a sampler out of the winter fun animals. I am going to fins a nice font in one of my alphabet in cross stitch books and write "winter fun" and put a border around it, with little snowflakes in side the square, directly in the middle, then there are 12 different winter fun animal pictures, and i will put them surrounding the winter fun square int he middle. I have no idea if I am making any sence here. Maybe if I start it, i will post pictures. Bye!

As if I need a new project to start! Ha ha!
Well, not much stitching has gone on here for a few days, on Friday I think I got about half an hour in on my Sampler, but other than that, none. I have been pulling full shifts at work the past three days, and most of the time, I don't get out of there on time. I have still been battling this cold I have and it is really making me tired. All of that, is not conducive to productive stitching, at all. I just feel like sleeping and then I go to work, and come home and vegetate.

So, anyway, today I only have a 5 hour shift! YIPPEE! So, tonight maybe I will get some stitching in, if hubby will let me. Well, off to read blogs and then maybe get a few stitches in before having to head off to work, at 12:30.

Oh, I am so glad that tomorrow is my day off!

Friday, December 16, 2005

Well, I think it is safe to put some progress pictures up now. I always wan tto, but then i think, no, there's not enough progress to tell, i'll just work on it two more hours then! show apicture, well, I decided they all look like something has been done ot them, so here it goes:

Here is dare to dream, at 15 hours. Is it just me, or does it look like nothing has been done to it? I don't know...? hmmm...?
Here is Snow Valley express:

This is at 9 hours.
November quilt at 25 hours:

And Last but not least, Love Home Joy: At 12 hours:

So! I have been getting some progress done. For the past two or so weeks, these have been my focus pieces. The two fo rmy parents and to break things up, the two for me. Once the first of the year comes along, I will cut back my stitching time for my parents, and add more for me pieces, as my previous post showed, I have LOTS to do, if I want to finish all on my list, I bet I won't get it all done, though. Last night I went through some of my stash, and found some other stuff I would like to add. For some reason, I am really getting into samplers lately. I have never really been into them, I would rather make pictures than words or whatnot, but I have found many beautiful pieces here at the blogsites I frequently visit, and my prefrence has been sorta changing a bit. It is weird, but that is what blogging will do, I guess. and reading other bloggers I see things that I think are cute when others do them, then I want to do something like them as well. Weird!

But, since most of my pieces are rather detailed for next year, I thought a sampler or two might break it up a bit. I don't know. We shall see. well, I am going to go get something to eat and get ready for work, and hopefully there will be some stitching time tonight. I, for some reason was awake last night from 2:30-4:45 in the morning, and so I usually like to get up a little early and get some stitching in before going to work, but this morning only about half an hours worth got done on my sampler, as I slept in a bit.

It is sorta funny, most people would rather sleep, but me? If I have to be at work at 10 in the morning, I get up at 6 in the morning, JUST so I can get some stitching in before getting ready and going into work! Yup, I'm an addict alright! I'll do whatever it takes to get my fix! Including skip out on sleep! =) Happy friday, and i hope you all are safe with the weather!

Ambitious!

Yes! That is what I am planning on being for 2006, when it comes to my stitching, I have about 13 projects I plan on working on and completing for the year. So here are the one's that are WIP's that I want to finish:

Ok, my original plan was to put pictures of all the ones I want to do on here, but bloggerphotos is being a butt. So, I will just list them, i guess.

My WIPs are:
-A Country Mile
-Dolphin's Domain
-Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Piglet in tree
-Holiday Airing
-Nature's window
-Patchwork Bears
-Sunset Run
-Dare to Dream
-Love, Joy, Home, sampler
-November Quilt
-Snow Valley express

my to do list (one's i need to start and finish looks like this:
- A school of dolphins
-Freedom Eagle
-I love Teddy
-Night Eyes
-The Abbey
-Safe Haven

there. They are all very large projects too! So,w ho knows if it will truly happen, but i can try, right?

This afternoon, I took some cold medicine and it made me a bit sleepy, so I took a nap, and when I woke up I felt restless, and bored and almost depressed. So, I decided to go through all the projects I plan on doing this year, and make sure I have all the threads I need, that way I can just plug right into them whenever the feeling hits. And that made the afternoon fly by, and that is when i decided to make my list of to do's, and what not for the following year. I am sure there are probably more I will do, because I have a ton of stash, and if I open the drawers, you know what will happen! I will feel the need to start a new piece! Well, I am outta here, maybe to go put some time into snow Valley Express, which I worked on for about an hour and a half yesterday. well, a progress picture soon on that one!
Bye!

Progress picture...

But! Not one of mine, but one of my DH's! I am so excited, I forgot to mention that earlier this week, Hubby asked if I would pick a fairly small, easy pattern and let him try his hand at cross stitching! I picked an ornament that was in one of my magazines from a few years ago, anyhow, I have decided to share with you, oh man I hope he doesn't get mad at me, but here it goes:
It is going to be a picture of a french horn with a bright red bow around it! I think he is doing VERY well. Some of the x's go the wrong way, but that is alright! who's gonna know?!

Well, this morning my cold hit with a vengence! I have been drinking Echinacea tea mixed with green tea, and water like it is going out of style, and I have been taking Echinacea pills every other hour as well. I keep having to go to the restroom, because of all the water and tea, but hopefully that will help it get out of my system quicker. I am so glad that I have today and tomorrow off from work, so I can do this drinking absurdly and running to the restroom every ten minutes. I think I have drank like 2 liters of water already, plus three cups of tea.

I am so glad that it isn't keeping me from stitching, though, I have about ten more minutes until I will have an hour in on Snow Valley Express for this morning. I wanted to get at least 3 hours in on it today, and plus work on November Quilt for a few hours as well. Then when I have done that I will indulge in working on Dare to Dream, or my sampler. Progress pictures soon!

Two hours of progress!

I did it! I worked soley on November Quilt for two hours this morning, before going ot work. I was (am )feeling very good about that! i decided that tonight would be a Snow Valley Express night, but! alas, I only did about half an hours worth of work on it while I watched Father of the Bride. But! I am hoping to get a significant amount of time in on it tomorrow. I have the next two days off from work, so I am thinking that I am going to spend a good amount of time on November Quilt, and on Snow Valley Express. If I get enough done, maybe by Friday I will post some progress pictures. Right now I sorta feel like going to bed. My hubby is sick, and I started to feel all congested and ucky too. I really wanted to spend the evening working on snow Valley, but I am afraid witht the way I feel that I will make mistakes, which reminds me, I found a mistake this evening on snow Valley, and I think i am just going to compensate and work around it. It would be too complicated at this time to go back and try to fix, or I would have to redo almost the whole bottom part that I have already done, and since I don't have that much time left to get it done, I have decided if I don't point it out no one will know, right?

Well, I am going to go crawl into bed, and get some sleep, so that maybe i will feel up to stitching all day tomorrow. I hope I can, I was really looking forward to it!

Progress on Home Love Joy Sampler

Well, here is my sampler at 10 hours, just as promised, I want to do updated pictures every ten hours.

Yesterday I got no stitching in at all, unless you count the ten minutes I picked it up yesterday, which I don't. We spent the morning reading and relaxing and then in the afternoon, we wen tot blockbuster, and then to get a bite for lunch, and then home to hang up Christmas lights, and we did that until it was time for me to go to work, int he late afternoon.

When I got home around 10 last night, I didn't feel like picking up my stitching. This morning, I got right up at 7:15 and did about an hours worth of stitching on HLJ, and when I am done on here I will go back to Dare to Dream, until I have to get ready to head off to work. I get out of work fairly early today (6pm) so I am thinking that I should be able to get some good progress in on something tonight. I keep thinking i need to pick up november quilt, as the last time i touched it was when i scanned it to put it on my blog, which was...a while ago! so, maybe I will make myself work on Snow Valley and November Quilt this week, since I really need to.

well, off to get a bit more in on Dare to Dream, before it is off to work. Bye!

A picture-Finally!

Here is what "I Love Teddy" looks like. I have liked this chart for awhile, but never got it, because it was soooooo expensive! I even have stationary with this little bear on it. so here it is:

A bit crooked on the scan, sorry! But yes, finally a picture! Everything is stitched except for the light blue in the background, that part is the fabric, but the roses on the blue background are stitched. I know I wrote that I already started, but I have decided that I am going to put it away, until AFTER I at least finish November Quilt, what an incentive, eh? Well, gotta get going, I have lots of stitching to do! And I am hoping to be able to show progress pictures of Dare to Dream by the middle of next week, at it's 20 hour mark. We shall see.
Oh yeah, and Becky, thank you so much for the comment! It is so nice to know that someone is reading my blog. Sometimes I think I am writing to cyber nothingness, not that I care too much, but, it is nice to be able to share my obsession with others who share it as well.

I did it again!

Last night I sorted the threads for I love Teddy, and then I....yes, I did....I started it! I have about 20 stitches only in him, but I started!I knew that would happen! I told myself to just get the threads sorted, that way when I am ready to start (originally going to be started next year) I won't have to deal with that tedious task. well, then I decided to JUST try to run off a working copy of the chart. Well, the chart is so big, that I had to make several copies to get everything in. well, then I decided to JUST find the center point...and before I knew it I had my needle threaded and off I went! ::sigh:: I am so disapointed in me. =( I wanted it to be a reward for finishing my parents birthday gifts! I wasn't going to start it until after I was done with both of them, sorta of as an incentive to get them done, and well, now look! I guess, I will pack it away, and forget abou tit, unitl after I am done with my parent's pieces, which, by the way I haven't touched (either of) in about a week, I think. Right now I am so gung ho about Dare to dream and my HLJ sampler, that I only want to work on them. so I alternate between those two pieces. They are starting to look really good, I will have to post a picture tomorrow as DH is on the computer-AGAIN! Anyway.

Yesterday was my day off, and i was so productive! I was proud of myself. I got 5 loads of laundry washed dried, folded and put away, then I wahsed two loads of dishes, and vaccuumed and swepted the kitchen and bathroom, and mopped one of the bathrooms, I tidies up the living room, which just got trashed the second Hubby walked int he door, I don't know why I bother, and I made a nice meal. and! Somewhere in there between my chores I got an hour done on each of Dare to dream and the sampler, and I read for about an hour. I am still reading Nora Roberts Garden trilogy, and am still on the second book in the series. I have been stitching so much I haven't read too much, and so I need to keep that up.

Well, I am going to go take a nice warm bath, and then settle down with Dare to Dream, or The sampler. Progress pictures soon!

YIPPEE! New stash!

Yes! My "I love Teddy" Kit that I ordered from Herrschners came int he post today! and the actual price tag was on it! originally $38.97! I got it for 7.99, plus shipping! (Came to like 12 bucks!) WHAT A STEAL!!!! Right now I am searching for a picture of it, on Dimensions webpage...O.k. it's not there, maybe there is one on Herrschners. It won't work, i will have to just scan it in tomorrow or something, right now Hubby is on the computer with the scanner connected to it. Alright, well, more later. I stitched about an hour each on Dare to Dream, and my Home Love Joy sampler.

Just a post to post.

I don't have much to ramble on about, this morning I put another hour in on Dare to Dream. I think it is going to be one of those pieces that doesn't go too quickly. Then I put about 40 mins. into "Home, Love,Joy". I thought that tonight would be a good night to settle into bed with my stitching. For some reason, that is my favorite place to stitch. I try to get comfy on the couch, can't do it, on the floor is alright, but after awhile it makes my behind hurt, so my bed is my favorite place, I think that comes from the fact that when I lived at home with mom and Dad my room was my safe haven. I spent ALOT of my time there, but it was so crowded with stuff that I would sit on my bed to do anything-read, write, homework, stitch, and to this day that is my favorite place to do most of anything! My husband gets "mad" at me because he says I'm a hermit, and I never come out of my room, and he thinks it is rediculous, since I have a whole 4 bedroom house now to be out in, but I am most comfortable in my room, on my bed. I can sometimes get comfy on the couch, but not too often. I like the small cacoony feeling of a smaller room, I can't explain why. But anyway, so after I am done with this post I will go get in bed with a cup of cofee (decaf!) and stitch to my happy hearts content, until hubby comes in to go to bed.
Happy stitching! oh, we are supposed to get some snow/sleet tonight, and tomorrow, oh yay. I like snow but not when I have to be out in it, and since i have to go to work tomorrow, this will not be fun, how come it couldn't be that way Thursday when I don't have to go out in it?!

progress picture...Dare to dream

this is where I'm at with Dare to Dream, at 9 1/2 hours. Sorry the scan is a bit wrinkly, it's hard to scan fabric! It is coming along, slowly but surely. More scans to come, I think I will scan at every ten hours, so in about another ten hours worth of work on this puppy I'll show my progress. This is the bottom left hand corner of the border.

Well- I did it again!

I started "The Abbey" once more, this time with colors that I have. Actually I only have one little blob of stitches, in one color. I know I should just wait unitl I get all the colors I need, but I am so excited about this project! I decided to start it, like hubby told me, "just work on a part that has colors that you already have then go back and fill in when you get the colors you need." Which seems so logical to him, but to me I feel like I am starting in no man's land on this piece. I really wanted to start in the upper left hand corner, and work my way through to page nine. But now I am working on the upper right hand corner of page 1, which means I will have to go back and fill in the rest when I get the colors. ho hum. I am so impatient! If only I had been organized at the time when Micheals had their sale the other week, I would already have the colors, because they would have been written down on a "need to buy list", for future projects, and it would have been in my purse!

Oh well. I am not sure what project I will work on today, I am thinking about either "The Abbey" or "Dare to Dream," which I have yet to put a picture of that one on here. Maybe I will do that here, soon. I have so many projects on the go, I can't decided what I want to work on, that is bad! Alrighty, I'm off to get some stitching done, so I can get some more progress pictures here. Bye!

A picture...

Here's what Dare to dream will look like when it is finished. I started this one at the lower left hand corner, as I started it several years ago when I was a new stitcher, and hadn't acheieved any methods for my stitching.

I am on the border on the bottom left hand side. I haven't put much time into it. But I just picked it back up on October 1st, and still have put very little time into it. It is in my rotation though, so maybe i will get some more time into it over the holidays. well, back to stitching

progress piccy's at last!

Well, finally! we got a scanner! So, the above picture is my progress on Snow Valley express, this is at:7 hours. Not too bad, so far. This is November Quilt at 22 hours:

And this is the "Home Love Joy Sampler":
This is at 7 hours. so, these are some of my main projects i am workin gon now, oh also, an update on the Abbey. I stopped working on it, after I messed up the colors I started working with, so I cut it off, entirely and decided to start over when I get all the colors I need. My start date wasn't to be until January 1st anyhow, So, I had started it over zealously, and messed it up, why can't I just be patient? Well, this weekend so far has been pretty good, Me and hubby decorated our Christmas tree last night, and today we did some christmas shopping, but not alot, though, as i have had back pain on and off for the past few weeks, and yesterday I finally went to see the doctor, and she prescribed some muscle relaxers as well as some anti inflamatory drugs too, and the muscle relaxers, event hough I took it at night knocked me for a loop this morning i woke up LATE: 10:30, which is LATE for me, and I couldn't quite wake up all the way for most the day, finally around 6 in the evening I woke up fully, and so no stitching got done today. I hope this stuff doesn't knock me for a loop tomorrow because I have to go to work. Oh won't that be fun?!
Well, I am going ot go watch a movie with DH, and do some stitching while I am at it.
maybe tomorrow i will put some more stitching pictures up. bye!

New Stash!

Well, yesterday I worked on November quilt for two hours. Today, I haven’t touched my stitching at all…unless you want to count the 5 minutes I worked on a precious moment one for my mom that I worked on while I was reading my blogs. It was one I started a few years back, and have yet to finish. It wouldn’t take much to complete either. I am so bad! I just bought myself something from Herrschners! They are having a sale on one of my favorite patterns, it’s a kit of “I love Teddy” regularly 20$, now only 7. something. I have to get it! So, here it goes! Going to get it now. I hope Hubby doesn’t read this!

Well, it should be here soon, I hope! Yippee! The last time I ordered from them it took only 4-5 days, I think. I hope it is that quick this time too! I couldn’t pass it up!

Well, I am off to stitch now! Bye!

i'm relapsing!

Relapsing in my Stitching addiction, that is! which is a good thing! Well, last night I did no stitching when I got home from work, I did an hours worth on November Quilt before I went to work, and this morning I have put another 2 hours in on Nov. quilt. i think i may make it by the due date, in a few months.

Well, I have been having some bad pain in my back/ribs/lungs/heart lately, starting yesterday. I am not one for doctors, i hate them. not them personally, of course, I just don't like going, and my husband said I had to make an appointment to go get my back checked out! I took advil, and my back feels fine. My everything feels fine! If I don't have any pain by Friday when my appointment is, I'm cancelling, I can't see wasting my time and the docs time for nothing. He pulled his back out of whack the other week and did HE go to the doctor? N-O! So, why should I? I know it's just because I lifted something wrong at work, in a few days it will go away, I'm sure.

So, irritating!
Well, I think I am going to go back to my stitching.

Oh! Last night, I pulled all my WIP's out and made a list of the things I want to do for 2006. It's a pretty long list. I don't think I will finish everything on it. (That's positive thinking-eh?)

And this morning i made a wish list of all the patterns/kits I want. THAT is an even longer list than my to do list. So, we shall see what goes down for Christmas. I am going to tell Hubby about my list,a nd see if it strikes a chord with him...hint hint honey!
Well, off I go!

Night stitcher...?

It is so wierd. I used to be a die-hard morning stitcher, because the later it would get i would be more tired and not feel like dragging out my stitching int he evenings, especially after a long day at work., but it seems that lately, I would rather stitch at night after work.

I got home from work around 6:45 last night, ate some dinnerthen settled down ont he couch with the 3rd Harry potter movie on, hubby rubbing my feet, and Snow Valley express in hand.

I worked on SVE for a full two hours last night, and made some good progress. I had planned to work one hour on Snow Valley, and one hour on November quilt, however, once I got going on snow valley, I couldn't put it down, so got 2 good, much needed hours in on it.

Tonight I get of work early (4:00 instead of 6:00) so i plan on getting LOTS of stitching done tonight, although I don't know on what yet.

It's been fun reading blogs this morning, alot of people have posted, and there is alot of talk about Christmas and alot of Christmasy projects. Well, I'm off to refill my coffee mug and pick up some stitching.

I did it!

What did i do? I started the Abbey today! I know! Not good. I was going to wait until I had everything prepped and ready to go. I pulled abou t1/2 the threads needed, some I don't even have yet. I couldn't wait! I actually put stitches into it tonight. I started on page 1, or in the upper left hand corner, so that is what I finally decided. This project has something like 200,000 stitches in it, I think I have 20 in!

I haven't worked on anything else today other than prepping this piece and startin git, even though I said I wouldn't do that until the 1st of January. oh well. I got a head start!

I decided to stitch it one over one, which I have never done, I have always used two strands, but I have never worked on aida this small before! well, so far, that is allt he exciting news in my stitching world. Guess I am going to go get some more in before I head off to sleep.

Very Stitchy Saturday

Well, yesterday i actually got quite a bit done stitchy-wise! I worked on the "Love, Home, Joy" sampler. I put an hour into that, and then after work, I worked an hour on November Quilt, which surprised me, as I normally do my best stitching int he mornings, when I am not so sleepy, and I got home from work around 10 last night, and sat right down with NQ for a good hour. Today I am hoping ot get more in on November Quilt, as well as Snow Valley Express, I am also hoping to work a bit more on prepping "The Abbey" (whip stitching the edges and pulling threads) So, we shall see how thi sgoes. I spent most of my morning so far reading. The third book int he trilogy I am reading comes out in 2 days. So, I want to get this second book done, so I can get the third. Well, here i go to make some progress on my stitching!

Saturday, November 26, 2005

Wow! I just scrolled through my blog list, and it is long, I haven't put them all on my sidebar, the ones I read, however, everyone must be out getting ready for Christmas, because barely anyone has posted for a few days. Hmmm...?

I also made a decision. I have beena faithful subscriber of Stitcher's World now for years, since about 1999, and just this year i have become very disappointed in their magazine. So, I decided to subscribe to "For the Love of Cross Stitch." I have found quite a bit of wonderful patterns in there when ever I get it off the newstand, and have been quite impressed with it. So, starting next year, I will be subscribing to that mag, instead of Stitcher's World, well, I'm off to work on my Home Love Joy sampler, as I haven't worked on it for awhile, I put about 18 stitches into it a few days ago,t hen set it down and moved on, that was during a stitching slump of mine, and I am back to it now!

Finished!

Finally I have a happy dance! Just another aornament. It is a picture of a bear holding a sign that says Noel. The bear is wearing a Santa Hat and the sign has a red and white striped border. It is cute. Now I have to do the finishing on it. I am not sure whether it will be a lfat piece or a pillow type thing. hmmm...?

So, now I can concentrate on...ornie #9, and getting things worked out for The Abbey, and then also work on my parents two pieces as well.

I am starting ot get excited about Christmas. I watched Home Alone 2 last night. Just to get into the Christmas spirit a bit more, plus hubby put the tree up, so we will decorate it today. I am actually getting excited about it.

Well, I think I am going ot go read some then get some stitching out and get to work. hmmm...The Question is: snow Valley express? or November Quilt? OR! I can dig into the trenches of my stash, and WIP's UFO's and do something else entirely. hmm...? We shall see.

A happy turkey(ham) day!

Well, yesterday when I posted I was planning on spending the evening alone with DH, however, our plans changed when friends of DH called to see what he was up to, and he invited them over to share T-day with us. So, We got to share our Thanksgiving with some special people. It was fun. after dinner we watched Bill Cosby. It was a nice evening, and we had plenty of food, though we thought we wouldn't.

And today it is back to work for me! I only work a short 5 hour shift today, though, which is nice.

Well, I didn't get the ornie finished last night, like I wanted to, I have been working on it this morning a bit. I am doing a large area of fill in (I say large, but the entire piece is only like 2 inches long and 1 high) and then I have to do the back stitch and I will be done. I am sure I can finish it by today!

Then maybe i will be motivated to work on some of my larger pieces.

Yesterday while watching Home Alone, a nice Christmasy movie, I started whip stitching the fabric I will be using for "The Abbey" I am getting excited about my decision to work on that piece. I can't wait to get started. i am afraid that I will neglect my other projects though. i must work out a rotation. I made my list of TO DO's yesterday for next year. I think I am going to try and be ambitious, because I have something like 12 rather large pieces ont he rotation. Hmmm...? Well, I am going to get back to my ornament now, bye!

A lazy but relaxing and fun day

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Well, this morning started early, with us getting up around 7 this morning. We have decided not to start dinner until 5 tonight, because I was thinking about having a nice candlelight dinner in front of the fireplace, picnic style, with just me and my honey.

Well, I finally got all those new flosses on their bobbins and into their rightful spaces in my floss boxes. Boy was that a chore! But! I now have 50 new DMC's that I didn't have before.

Well, I have decided to use December as a prep month for next year. I will keep up my stitching on November Quilt, and Snow valley express, which I have finalized dead lines for both of those, (NQ= March 1st, SVE=April 10th) That way I will be able to get them off to my parents for their birthdays. (april 23rd for my mom, May 14th for dad.) So, I decided once and for all that I am going to start on "The Abbey" by Marty Bell on January 1st.I have a lot of prepping to do for it before I actually can start: pulling floss, putting it on floss cards, labeling the threads on the floss cards, making copies of the pattern so it can be marked on as I go along, whip stitching the edges of the fabric (I decided on 22 count white aida that I already had in my stash) and mentally preparing myself as well.

Does that sound funny? This is the first time I will venture into the area of more than 30-40 floss colors on a project, quite frankly I find it a bit daunting. I have never worked a pattern that was 9 pages long either. And I am not sure quite how I should start. Most of my projects up to this point have been started in the middle, at the center point, that way I am pretty sure it will be centered on the fabric piece, and not slide off one end or another. (As unfortunately in my earlier years of stitching this happened, and it sucks after putting so much effort into something to find you can't finish it, or your fabric isn't large enough.) But with this, I am not sure if I don't want to start in the top left hand corner, as it is page #1 on the chart. That way I can go page by page, instead of having to start on page 5, and work my way around. Hmmm...? I guess I have a month to figure it out. Hmmm...?

I also have figured out some other deadlines as well, of other projects that I would like to get done next year (2006) I have decided not to put a deadline on The Abbey, as I have never done one this large and detailed, I am not sure how it will work out. I may say by my birthday (Nov. 10th) I want to have it done. That would be ten months, if I start on Jan. 1st. well, I am going to get working on my 8th ornie right now, it is coming along quickly and I think I can finish it today, if I work on it the rest of the afternoon, until dinner, I think I may have a happy dance!

HAPPY THANKGIVING!

A busy day.

Well,t his morning, I got a little bit of work in on ornament #8. I am hoping to finish it before the end of this week, which means i am going to have to work very hard on it for about three days.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, and me and DH have no plans. We are going to cook for ourselves, we went and bought a bunch of stuff, the usual thanksgiving stuff: ham, potatoes, stuffing, etc. And so we are going to do our own cooking. It is weird, because even though it will just be him and I, I am excited about tomorrow, I think it will be fun, him and I in the kitchen, then settling in front of the fire in the fireplace with our dinner, and just spending some time together. It is weird that I am actually excited about it since I am so used to having a big thanksgiving feast with a lot of people. It will be a nice quiet day just him and I. I plan on doing stitching, of course. I always plan on stitching, but I think I write about it and read about it a great deal more than I actually do it! Well, not always but alot. I need to pick up the needle and put it to work especially on my rotation pieces, I just have not been much in the mood for stitching lately! I don't know what my deal is! I don't feel like dragging all the supplies out and settling in for long periods of stitching, I am more into the quick ornament thing right now. just something sorta small and easy to pick up and put down.

Well, Happy Thanksgiving!

ugh

STILL winding floss onto bobbins...WHERE are those worker elves?!

Tuesday, November 22, 2005

hmm..?

I didn't know what to name my post, so I named it hmmm...? How original! Well, this morning has been really weird. I read for a bit, and I have done abunch of housework, clean dishes, so some laundry, but i have yet to pick up a needle. I want to , too, as I don't have to go into work until 3:30, I have most the day to do just that. I have been busy flossing bobbins, though. so, I have been doing Stitchy things, just not stitching itself.

Today is my hubby's thanksgiving luncheon at his work, and he wants me to go, but I was looking forward to having all day to relax, getting some work done around the house, and doing some stitching. I haven't decided yet whether or not I will go. I should, to make him happy, but I was really looking forward to having the day to myself, and getting things done.

My next day off is Thanksgiving, and that is all I get off, I don't get the weekend or Thursday and Friday, nothing like that, so is the life of a retail worker. Oh well, I got three days off last week, all in a row, too! So, I guess I can't complain!

well, I think I am going ot go to this luncheon thingy with dearest hubby-poo.
So, I guess I better get going. bye!

Yippee! New Floss-LOW price!

Well, yesterday, DH and I went to Micheal's, after my eye appointment, which went well. So, I go to Micheal's, without my floss list (gasp!) apparently the last time I went shopping for threads I took my list out and forgot to put it back into my purse! I always keep a spare in there, incase I am ever in Walmart or a craft store, and decide to pick up a few threads that I may need. However, I didn't have my list with me, much to my disappointment as Micheal's is having a sale on DMC right now 5 for a buck!!! So! when I told DH, he was so sweet, he said "Well, let's go home and get your list and come back, so you can get some." And then he teased me saying "Because if we don't come back, I'll never hear the end of it!" So! That is what we did! I got 50 colors on my "To get" list. So, I guess I will be winding bobbins for awhile! =) But it will be so worth it. Being in that store really got me geared up for the holidays! I came home and burned some Christmasy smelling candles, and turned on some Christmasy music.

AND! I got yarn and some crochet hooks, and am going to try my hand at crochet. Good luck to me! i also want to try knitting. One of these days! Well, I work the dreaded 10-6 today, so I got up at some 5:15 this morning, so I would have abit of time to doink around before going to work. I actually have some chores to do, like putting laundry away, that way when I get home tonight, I can sit and wind bobbins until I am blue in the face. Once again, I wonder where the stitching "Worker elves" are!

Nature's Window

Well, yesterday before I headed off to work I got a bit of work done on Nature's Window.I worked on it for abuot an hour. which is good, since I haven't touched it in...a few weeks, almost a month, I think. Right now I am working on the sky line which is just a lot of half stitches, which goes pretty quickly. I am starting to get bored of that color though and am ready to skip to something else. There are some trees int he back ground, I guess I could work on them, or the wolves int he picture.

The pattern is a bit hard to follow because it is so detailed. But so far, I think I am doing pretty good. It is coming along better than it was. I think that one has been in my "to do" pile for about 5 years, or more. So, It is nice to pull it out and get it worked on. I have a few others that are int he same boat, as well, as ones that I think I had messed up (misscounted somewhere) on and so sorta gve up on and never returned to. One of those is one for my mother, of a Precious Moments girl holding a bunch of flowers, with a little sign that says "Thanks a bunch" I was going to give it to her for thanking her and dad for all the help they gave me to get me through college. However, I lost interest. So, maybe I should start it over or try to get back into it? I don't know. Right now there is no room in my rotation for it. I have too much on my hands already.

Today I have an eye doctor's appointment as my eyes have given me a lot of trouble lately, I strian them a lot, which causes headaches. So, hopefully they will be able to help me with that. and maybe make stitching a bit easier too. Well, I am off to get some stitching done before my appointment, because after they dialate my eyes I am not sure if I will want to read or stitch for awhile, but maybe. I hate that feeling, of having my eyes dialated! they feel like bug eyes! Then you have to wear dark glasses for the next few hours. UGH. Gosh it sure has been a long time since I have been to the eye doc. Should be interesting.

Some progress...

Yesterday was my last lovely day of relaxation, and I got a lot of stuff done. well, two hours of stitching in, that's for sure. I haven't even picked up my needle today. I had a crappy 10-3 shift today, tomorrow is even worse! 10-6! That takes up all day! So, I was thinking, go to bed around 11 tonight, and get up around 5 or 6 int he morning, that way I will actually have some time to get some stitching in before I head off to work.

Tonight, I could have done some after work, but I was busy doing housework. ugh. Plus, hubby is still on night shift, so he was home, and I hung out with him a little bit before he had to head off to work Then to keep my mind off the fact that I was alone for the evening, I cleaned and tidied up just about every inch of my home. I kept meaning to sit and stitch, but somehow it hasn't happened. I am probably going to get to bed here before too long. That way I can wake up nice and early and stitch or whatever before it is off to work. Why must we work? Why cant i just sit around and stitch all day? Oh what am I complaining about? I was off the last three days and hardly picked up a needle, except to finish one of my christmas ornies, and work a bit on Nov. Quilt. well, all this reading of blogs, and thinking about stitching makes me want to pick up the needle. So, I am going to move myself into the living room, and get into my stitching and DVD's of Gilmore Girls season 1. My DH thinks I am crazy because I enjoy watching all these shows like older episodes, but I have been in college for the past 5 years, and I have had little or no time for tv watching during those times, living in the dorms, and all, so I am just trying to catch up.

brr...cold

I named my post that, because that is what i am right now. I am sitting in my house freezing away, I just turned the heater on, and I am hoping htat it gets warm in here soon! along with my coffee, and nice warm fleece blanket, I should be warm any minute now! the highs today is....55 degrees! Good Lord! Well, I shall survive, as long as I have a hot pot of coffee, and my big fuzzy blankets, I should be fine. Yes, and my heater. It is starting to heat up in here...

Well, yesterday I finished Ornament #7! And started #8 Goody for me! and not a stitch did I put into any of my rotation pieces! hmmm...? The week is slipping away! Before I know it, I am going to realize it is sunday already and I will be disappointed in myself for not having picked up any of the 5 pieces on my rotation list.

Today is my last day of my three days off, and I really should confine myself to my bedroom, with some good music and my stitching. But somehow being confined to my room sounds like punishment, and since Stitching should be fun, I don't want it to be a punishment.

I keep getting sidetracked, with my book! It is all Nora Robert's fault! If "Blue Dahlia" hadn't been such a good book, I would have been able to put it down and stitched. And I finished it last night, but now I am onto "Black Rose" the next book in the series, which I want to finish before the end of this month as the third and last book in this trilogy comes out on the 29th.

Well, so this is my last day off and I must make the most of it. So, I think I will get going on my rotation stitching. Maybe a day of solitary confinement with my stitching won't be such a bad idea afterall. Hmmm...?

Yeah right, alot of stitching- pooey!

Well, yesterday I was intending ot get stitching done. I got a few stitches in, my 7th ornament. However, any other stitching- not! I sat and read for three hours! granted, it is a great book! but my poor stitching. WHY do I always have the want to , but I never get it done! It is just like the rest of my life:
- I intend to do more housework
-I intend to drink less coffee
- I intend to drink more water
- I intend to do more excercise
-I intend to eat less, and not make a pig out of myself.
-I intend to do more yard work
- I intend to stitch 2-3 hours a day, especially those I have off from work!
The list goes on and on! Come on now! And like that last one should be so hard! I can feel the needle in my fingers, I have the itch to hold it in my hand and stitch, but do I? no! I sit down and watch another episode of Gilmore girls, which i have started to rent from Blockbuster by DVD. Or! I go online and fight with my impossibly SLOW dial up internet and read blogs ABOUT...stitching! But! Do I do it? Do I go running? Do I eat less? Do I stop pouring coffee down my throat as if this is the last pot I will ever see?! NO! I DON'T! sigh.
well, I supposed I can say I am off to do some stitching, however, I am really not believing myself at this time to want to do so, so I guess, i can say "Maybe" I am off to do some stitching, but who really knows for sure? hmmm...I will let you know!

On a mini holiday

Well, I have the next three days off from work, which is great! I can get lots of reading and stitching done. I have been trying to put some time into "Snow Valley Express" for my dad. Over the weekend I got about 1 and a half hours into it. Which is good, if you count in the fact that I am not truly enjoying this project much. I don't like the colors. It is too blah. It is a picture of a train int he snow, so there is a lot of grays and blacks in the train and the back ground. But I am making some good progress on it. I am hoping to get the 5 hours in on it I have allotted for it for my weekly rotation. With having three days off, I am thinking I shouldn't have a problem. Today is going to be a housework/chores day, and then I can totally relax the next two days. So, right now i have a load of wash in the washer, and I am going to vaccuum the house, and sweep the bathrooms, and kitchen, and tidy up the living room. I think that may take me a few hours, and then I will take a few hours off to read or stitch, and relax. I am totally feeling the starters bug, I got "cozy re-tweets" by Donna Vermillion Giampa a book with a three patterns of companion birdhouses and I totally want ot start one. Even though I know I shouldn't start them, and I should keep up my work on snow Valley Ex. or my november quilt, and if I need to get away from them, then I can work on the other three projects in my rotation. I will put this book of patterns away and not look at it again until I finish one of the projects in my rotation.
Well, I am going to go get on that housework, and then i can spend the rest of my days off relaxing, and stitching...of course!

Happy Birthday to me!

Wow! I haven't posted for awhile! Well, today is my birthday! 28 years old! WHERE does the time fly to? I wish I knew. Well, I have been trying to reorganize my rotation, but it seems no matter how I try I just can't seem to stitck with it. Yesterday I worked on my ornament. I put little beads on the tree he is holding to make it look like there are ornaments on it, and I did some of the back stitch, that is all I have left to do, is backstitch, then I will be finished with him. I am not sure if I will try to do some more before Christmas is here, but for now, I want to put most of my time into November Quilt. Which yesterday I missed intirely! I have no idea where the day went yesterday, but I know I went jogging and puttered around, I read for a good while in the morning. I'm in the middle of Nora Robert's "Blue Dahlia" from her garden trilogy. It is pretty good. So, I did that and I got some mail ready to be forwarded to my inlaws who recently moved out of my house. Oh and I watched "Miss Congeniality"! Good movie! and then worked a bit on my ornament. Then before I knew it, it was time to head off to work. When I got home, around 9:15 at night, I wasn't in the mood for stitching, and watched "Two Weeks Notice" (I'm a big Sandra Bullock fan!) and then I didn't even make it all the way through the movie before I decided it was bed time. So, I went ot bed and fell right to sleep, despite the fact that DH was at work last night. Which I don't sleep well when he isn't here.

So, there was my day in a nutshell, plenty of time for sttiching, but it didn't really happen. Plenty of time for cleaning up the house, but didn't happen, and now I have to do it on my special day. Sigh, oh well, at least I will take time to do some stitching, in a real sence today! a few hours or more worth!

Happy Monday

Well, I am hoping everyone had a great weeekend. I had a rather stitchy weekend, myself. I actually got quite a bit done on my November Quilt piece for my mom. It is looking good. I worked on it for three hours yesterday. It is motivating me to keep it up. Why is it that it always takes me awhile to pick up a project, but once I do, look out! The needle will be a-smokin'? I wonder if it is just me that does this, or does this happen to others as well?

This week, I am hoping to get a good chunk of it done. I intend to get my 7 allotted hours in on it, if not more, not to mention the other 4 pieces in my rotation. We shall see if I can actually be disciplined and work on the pieces I say I am going to.

Well, yesterday, DH and I went shopping. He bought my wedding rings on Friday night, and we had to go to the store and have them sized and sautered. So, while at the mall, we looked around, and we spent quite a bit of money.Which I don't think was too smart, but I need to take something back today, because it is the cassette tapes of an audio book set, that I could listen to while doing my stitching, but I got home and the tape player in my deck is not working, so I hope they will take it back. I have my reciept. I was rather disappointed. I have had this great idea that I will start buying audio books to listen to while stitching, that way I can kill two birds with one stone, read and stitch at the same time. And this was my first attempt at doing so, and I can't even do it...yet.

I have to go to work 5 hours earlier today than I normally do, they asked me to come in early, probably to cover for someone, or for a mistake they made on the schedule. Which will be alright, I will get home early evening. and then it will be stitching time. Alrighty. I am going to go now, andf try to get a little bit of stitching in before It is time to go to work. I really just feel like going back to bed.

picture...

Just for the record, I wanted to put this picture on here, so my readers can see what I am working on. I am working on the Quilt right now, on the red leaf in the middle, as well as the brown/tann one on the bottom left hand corner. I also have a part of the wheel that is sticking out from under the blanket done, and the pumpkin by the wheel, and most of the sky over the quilt done as well. I have most of the red border around the quilt finished as well, just have to add shading. It is coming along, It is actually a quicker stitch than I thought it would be.

In the groove again!

Well, yesterday I actually sat down for an hour and stitched on Paula Vaughan's November quilt for my mom. I hadn't done anything. Even after I started my rotation, and tried to get it together, I just couldn't. So, I am supposed to put 7 hours of time into it a week, I have done 1 1/2 this week, that means I have to stitch 5 1/2 hours on it today. yeah right. I think I will just be short a few hours this week. plus, I haven't done much on anything else in my rotation either. Oh well, I am just glad that I got some work in on November Quilt. I plan to do a few more hours on it today, as it is my day off. So, hopefully. This is a short post, but just wanted to write that I finally put some work in where needed.

Ok, so I am not so dumb afterall.

I figured it out, this could take awhile though. I had about eight links upunder blogs I read typed up and ready to publish and my computer kicked me off line! great, just great. This may take a bit. I am just glad I figured it out, and I did it all on my own! This may really suck up my stitching time!

O.k, I have no clue what I am doing!

So! Today I decided I would try to put things in my side bar of my blog, I don't think I did it right. So far it looks awful. I have no clue what I am doing. If anyone reads this and wants to help, feel free! I am tired of my blog looking blah, so I thought I would try to fix it, but I think I made it worse. I get the idea, but I did it wrong somehow.

Well, today I have done very little stitching. I worked on my ornament, with lil' Mr. Snowman on a Sled, which I wanted to have finished at the beginning of the week, but it is not done yet, although I think that tonight I will get it done. My DH and FIL are going to the movies, to see Jarhead, as my FIL is a retired Marine, and that sort of movie doesn't interest me at all, I think tonight will be a night of stitching and CSI, even though I have already established that doing them at the same time will probably not work out too well. Well, that's alright.

I may also try to figure out how to fix this boring blog of mine, as I can do the post itself, but the sidebar stuff...I am so computer daft! It's embarrasing- really. I wonder if my hubby will be able to help. I bet he would, he is super smart and good with computers. He is always so busy though. Well, I am going to get to stitching, I think. I have a lot of it to get done. bye!

Happy November

Well, yesterday, DH and I had to drive three hours to Dallas to pick up his father from the airport who is visiting us for a few days. That meant...stitching time! I started working in earnest on a project that I started years ago, and I probably had about an hours worth of work into it. It is by "Designs for the Needle" and it is called "Natures Window" and It got stuck in my "to do later...much later" list, or pile. So, I decided to put it into my rotation. I have quite a few of those I started a while back (due to the starters bug that seems to hit us all) and have about an hours worth into and then forgot them, or whatever, and I have decided to get them DONE! So, I put it into my rotation. It is slot #4, I think, which means I am only supposed to work on it about 1/2 an hour a week. Well. I haven't worked my rotation correctly since I started it! I have worked on pieces in my rotation, but not int he correct order and not the right amount. See? That is the problem with me is I say I'm going to do a rotation. Then I set it all up. and I may work on the projects for it, but I get really into a project, and then can't put it down, so then instead of doing what I was going to do for the attended amount then I throw it all out the window! And do whatever I want anyway! Maybe I just need to accept that I am just not a rotation kind of girl.

Anyway, so my whole point was that I have this project in my so called rotation and I worked more on it than I intended. You know? Maybe i should just scrap the whole rotation idea. I think that is an idea, because I enjoy workin gon so many pieces, but at the same time, if i have 30 projects in progress, I will never get them done. I need to have a handful in the works then when i finish one put something else in. but then I alwasy wander back to my stash to see if something else calls me. ugh.

Today, I am going to try to stick to my rotation 1 hour for my focus project and 1 hour for my secondary focus project. but I know I will want to go off and work on soemthing else intirely. Oh why even bother? I think it is just hard for me, because my focus pieces are for other people not for me, and I have sort of abandoned the whole obligation stitching thing. so, i want to stitch stuff for myself. Well, guess I better go get to it.

Happy Halloween!

Well, I have not posted in quite some time, and it is certainly not because I am too busy stitching, even though I have picked up the needle again. I got in the mood to do some finishing. I made a few ornaments, and it got me excited and wanting to make more, so I set down and kept stitching on the little ornie projects I had picked out for this year, I have about 18 in all, right now I am at #5. You know? I don't think I will be finishing them any time soon! Just like my Halloween pieces, I wanted to have them done by today...didn't happen! I have been sidetracked by WIP's. If I could just shut them away in their cubby, and work on the things I need to work on,(like Christmas stitching) but alas I hear them bumping around and their muffled little shouts, "Work on me, work on me!" "It's dark and crowded in here, take me out into the sunlight and love me! I will look so beautiful on your wall, and the only way you will see me there is to WORK ON ME!" Yes, I hear them, and I succumb to their sad little voices. And my "need to's" get shuffled away, and forgotten. If only I had more hours in a day! Someone once said "I'm glad there are only 24 hours in a day, if I had any more I wouldn't have a good excuse for not getting everything done." But when it comes to stitching, I do wish I had more time. I know alot of stitchers who are like that! I mean, just look at our piles of stash. And we have ONE life?! Geeze, why couldn't we be like cat's and have 9 lives? Then we could get it all done! Oh well, enough about that. and moving on...

On the stitching note...I have picked up my needle and worked on an ornament, that had gone by the wayside for a bit, and I just pulled him out. A cute little snowman sitting on a sled holding a Christmas tree. He is very cute, and I had started him maybe about a month ago, and then set him aside for aforementioned WIP's that were bumping around in the drawer trying to get my attention(they succeeded!) and So, this weekend I decided I needed to work on him and try to finish him this week. So while I am doing good in that, my Halloween projects have suffered.

Well, tonight, I was at work, and it being Halloween, it was quite slow in the store once the sun went down, (at 6:30, might I ad- waaah!) and so I got to thinking about a rotation. Here I go again, trying to figure out a way to get my stuff done. I do want to be more systematic about my stitching, maybe my things will get finished faster that way. And I have decided to allot 14 hours a week to it, that would be 2 hours a day. I will have five projects in my rotation. It will look like this:
Primary focus piece= 7 hours a week (1 hr/day)
secondary focus piece= 5 hours a week (1 hr/work day)
3rd= 1 hour a week (1 hr on off day #1)
4th=1/2 hour a week (1/2 hr on off day #2)
5th= 1/2 hour a week (1/2 hr on off day #2)

I don't know if that makes any sence to anyone other than me, but I will do 2 hours a day. I will work on my primary focus piece everyday for an hour. My secondary primary focus piece will be worked on as the second hour of the days that I work 3rd in line will be stitched the second hour on my first day off from work, and the 4th and 5th pieces will share the second hour of my second day off.
Are you totally confused?
oh well, as long as I know what I mean, that is all that truly matters, right? Now all I have to do is figure out just which pieces are going to be going into my rotation. Right now I know Paula Vaughan'a November quilt from her quilts of the year book will be #1 because it is my mother's birthday gift, and I need to finish it! I was going to make it for her for Christmas, but I think I doinked around too long on my selfish WIPS that I don't know if I now have the time to finish it by Christmas. #2 will be my father's birthday gift, which was supposed to be his x-mas gift also, except once again, I think I have run out of time. Third, fourth, and fifth will be pieces for me. And I don't know quite just what to put in there. When I know I will let you know. But for now I am tired, and I think it is time for bed. Good night.

getting over a slight stitching slump

well, for about aweek, I have had no motivation to stitch, however, yesterday I made myself sit down and work on the "Home, Love,Joy" sampler. And I actually feel like I want to stitch today, what on, I can't tell you, I have no clue. I sorta have the starters itch. I want to begin a new piece, however, I don't think that will be happening. I really need to fight it, and keep plugging away at WIPs. Hmmm... Well, It is early in the morning and I am going to go back to bed. I live 6 miles from an Air Force Base, and they for some reason enjoy flying their bombers over my house in the dead of night. It sounds like thunder! So, I decided to get up and do some blogging and catch up on reading some of the ones I enjoy reading. alrighty, good night.

fall...finally (sigh)

Well, just this weekend fall has fallen, with a bang! Saturday it was beautiful out, high 70's low to mid 80's sunny, a little breeze, felt like the late stages of spring. Then Sunday was dark and windy and cloudy and we thought it might rain, felt really like fall. Yesterday we woke up to frost on our windows and this morning as well. I would say fall is here. I hope I don't jinx it, as this is my favorite time of the year, and I love lighting the fire place, and the crisp coolness and the colors, it just gets you in the mood for the Holidays, doesn't it? Well, it does me!

Well, again nothing got done in the stitching arena yesterday, even though I said I was going to sit and stitch, it never quite happened. Well, let me rephrase that, "stitching" didn't happen, prepping did. I had to put all those new flosss colors onto bobbins so I can put them in their rightful places in my color boxes, so that is what I did! So, more of the mundane "chores" of stitching. I really ought to look into hiring someone for these things, anyone interested? Please e-mail me your resume'! =)

Have a great stitchy day everyone, and as always, happy stitching!

Not a stitch!

Yup! two days, and not a stitch did I stitch! well, yesterday me and hubby went to Micheals crafts, and I got a few more flosses on my list, as well as a book with three patterns in it. That is all I got for myself. This morning i have meant to pick up my needle, but it hasn't happened yet. I have been busy doing laundry and other house chores, and now I think it is time to get comfy on my couch and get to work. I am tired of cleaning up. And doing chores, my needle calls, and I am going to answer! bye!

New stash...sorta

Well, since we haven't had a car for the past few months, and was just able to get one, my DH told me that one of the first things he wants to do is take me to Hobby Lobby. which we did yesterday. I was a such a good girl, too! I only bought 30 skeins of floss, a few packages of needles, and a few stitch rippers, as I like to have one in each project I am working on, that way I don't have to go searching for one when it is needed. I bought no new charts, and no new patterns or kits, no new fabric, and now I look back and wonder...what was wrong with me?! Plus they were having a sale! I guess, I just know that right now my "To do" list is quite full. I have stocked up on fabric til i'm blue in the face, and for now all I need is new flosses. I am working on getting all the colors of DMC. Even though I need to be buying the colors needed for some of my "to do" list.

You know my biggest fear? Well, not my BIGGEST, but a large "fear", or concern? Is that I am a military spouse, and what is going ot happen if (when) we get shipped overseas? Will I still be able to find all the things I need for my favorite hobby? and will I have to pay an arm and a leg for them? What if I am working on a project and run out of a color, and they have discontinued it in the country I'm in? So! That is why I am tryign to get all the floss that i need, because that way I won't need to worry about it while I am over there. Plus, I have heard that in some places the post is really strict on what they will allow to come through, so it's not like I can call a US stitching friend and say send me this or that, how do I know I will be able to get it?

I know, this is a weird entry, but that is why I am trying to stock up on whatever I need, but of course I can't just do it all right before I leave, I need to stock up a little over time, or it can become expensive! Hmmm...

Well, so lately I have just been putting alot of time into "A country mile." and it is going faster than I thought it would. I am having a hard time putting it down. I think today I will go back to the Home Love Joy sampler. We shall see.

Hurting for a friend

I was just reading my long list of stitcher blogs and I got to one of my very favorites, infact it is by a woman who inspired me to blog myself. She wrote about a terrible incident that had happened to her where someone was mean and cruel and said some very hurtful things to her, for no reason. It has sickened me. She is so sweet, and she doesn't deserve to be treated that way. I don't know if the person who reads hers reads mine but if they do, I wish they didn't. I hope they don't.

Well, after that said, I do have some stitching news to report. After yesterdays rant about how I could be lazy not to kit up a project when I start, I sat right down with the aforementioned project and stitched away for a good three hours! AFTER I did pull all the floss I needed for it! I have a confession to make, though, I didn't bind my fabric, well not yet. myabe eventually.

Well, I don't have much to write- oh! Yesterday my hubby caught our hungry house guest, AKA Mr. Mouse. so, that is good! Now I don't have to worry if I will come nose to nose with him when opening his favorite cupboard. Well, off to get some more stitching in on "A Country Mile" ( The project I worked on for three hours yesterday.) It is proving to be one of those pieces you just don't want to put down.

Wednesday, October 19, 2005

Laziness? Or just too darned excited?

I pulled out one of my older WIP's this morning, and realized I had not fully kitted it up when I started it. There was the Aida fabric and two lengths of thread, two different colors. I have probably about 2 hours in on this piece, before I set it aside and moved onto whatever fit my fancy at the time, and here sits this poor ole project unloved. I must have been very excited to get a stitch in on this piece when I started it, I didn't take time out to pull all the threads I needed or anything! I merely cut a few lengths of the colors I would need first off, and that is it! How unorganized is that? Was it laziness? Or was I just so excited I didn't want to take the time to pull out my color boxes and pull and cut lengths of the needed colors for the whole project? I do this often, and then find that later on in the project I run out of a certain color and am so lazy, that instead of pulling more floss, I set the project aside and there it sits, until I eventually stick it back in my stash collection once again, and then pull it out months later, and wonder why I had not been working on it, and then when I open the bag and realize why, I just go cut the needed floss, and get on with the project, and I wonder why months before it had seemed like such a chore to pull the floss in the first place? I mean it only takes a minute! I need to hire someone to pull/sort my threads for me, as it seems I only like to do the stitching. The prep part is just annoying. Especially when you buy a kit, and you have to sort through all those colors, and figure out which is which and whatnot! Who has time for that?! I want to stitch!! Not sort! Oh another thing I am horrible about is binding the edges of my fabric so it won't unravel. I think I may start just using packing tape or masking tape for that, as I don't have a sewing maching, and have to do it by hand. And, you guessed it! It just takes up way toooo much time! Ok, well, right now I am going to do the sensible thing and go cut floss for this project I pulled out this morning so I can get on with it already!
Happy stitching... and sorting and binding...ugh.

Just another day

Well, it is Tuesday, there's not much going on, just a bunch of laundry and stitching on my Halloween pieces a little bit, not much only about half an hours worth of stitching so far. I always mean to do so much more, but then the phone rings, or I have to switch the laundry, or I notice the sink needs to be scoured, or...I'm sure you know what I am talking about. I always have it in my mind that I will sit down for a few uninterrupted hours with my needle and thread...and then! Before you know it, the day has slipped by, and your stitching is found sitting next to that easy chair or couch, where you had inteded to enjoy a long afternoon worth of stitching, but somehow it never happened. Well, with that said I am going to try to get at least an hours worth of stitching in on Fright Night Friends before I go off to work.

Oh thank you for the post Cathy! Oh and to answer your post of a few days ago, no we have not gotten Mr. Mouse yet, he keep skirtting around the trap we have out for him, this time, hubby put the trap right in front of the hole he keeps coming in at, maybe that will deter him...? Lets hope!

Am I alone?

O.k. i have spent most of today cleaning house. It always seems as if after Hubby dearest has been home for a few days (ie: the weekends) I end up spending much of the day that he returns to work cleaning up and tidying up his messes. Am I alone in this? Do other housewives have this problem? I mean, most of it is just general tidying up, but, I feel like Rob has no sense of putting things away, or wiping up spills, or anything of this nature. Ok! I have decided- that's it! no kids! Cause they probably make even bigger messes than hubby. Nope, not unless he hires me a house cleaner.

Anyway, even with all this said, I must admit, I have found some time in between various chores to get some Stitching in, while watching CSI, which is sorta hard to do, as you really have to watch CSI, so I got more watching than stitching done. But, I decided after much hem hawing around that I would return to "Love Joy Home" a sampler using various shades of purplish/blues and greens. It is by Ursula Michael- oh, no wonder I like it! It was featured in the June issue of The Cross Stitcher Magazine. I have put five hours into it, and I started it September 26th, it seems like a quick stitch, though. so much for Halloween stitching once again! Oops. Maybe just maybe I will set this sampler down and pick up Fright Night Friends, and work ont hat a bit before I head off to work. Yes, I guess I will. bye!

A happy dance!

Well, here it is: The new car! Thank you Suzanne for the comment! Yes, it is very exciting! It's not a bad lil car. I like it. Hot rod red! =) Well, I have a stitching happy dance as well! Kitten Love is finished! I finished her around 2 this afternoon, then me and hubby went for a drive in the car. It was truly a load of fun! So nice to have wheels again!

Well, now I have the incredible task of figuring out what to put in Kitten love's place in my rotation. To tell you the truth I have a "screaming rotation", as I have a hard time staying disciplined to work on what I say I'm going to work on at the time I say I'm gonna work on it! Alot of stitchers can stick to a rotation, where everyday they work on a different project, or they work so many hours on a project before switching out and working on the next one on the list. I have tried, and somehow it never quite works out! So, I guess the next thing in line will be the Halloween stitching I have to get done. Afterall, I have about 2 weeks until Halloween, so better get the needle to the evenweave, now shouldn't I? Hope you all have a great week!

Oh yes, me and hubby watched "Unleashed" tonight- REALLY good!

Yeah right!!

Well, as it happened, I didn't get anything done on Kitten Love yesterday, that is because....We went car shopping! Yippee! We picked one out and did all the paperwork, and then we had figure out the insurence stuff, which we did and today I think we will be going back to get the car. I am very excited! Of course, I may not be, what with gas prices what they are, but at least we can get around a little bit. Well, I am thinking that today will be a good day to stitch. It looks dark adn cloudy outside. I wonder if it is going to rain...? Hmmm..well, I work this afternoon, so if anything is to get done, I better get on it now! That is why I am up at 7:30 ona Saturday morning. If I stay in bed then I feel like I am wasting my day, so if I get up early, then I feel like the day is longer for me, and i can get alot more done. Well, here I am off to work on Kitten Love. oh I do hope to finish her today.

Hmmm...?

I am not entirely sure what I want to write about today. Except to say that I am REALLY close to a happy dance on Kitten Love. Just some fill in and some back stitch and I'm done, I am hoping to finish it today before I head to work. Not much else going on. Hubby didn't have to work his whole shift last night, and got home by 11 pm, which was nice. the previous night I had a hard time going to sleep because he was gone, last night I knocked right out, but then he woke me up when he came in,and then I couldn't go back to sleep. I was supposed to go with a friend this morning to go yard sale hunting, but I had set my alarm and slept right through it, so called her to let her know that I wouldn't be able to make it. I have been awake for about an hour, and I feel like I could just go right back to bed. but I hate sleeping. I think it is a waste of time. I could be spending that time stitching or reading a good book. Maybe I will lay down just for a bit. I fear for the shape my stitching may be in, if I try to pick it up while I'm this tired!
