Flower Bride...page 1? Done!

Last time I posted:

Today, 5 days later:

I love that you can really see the sparkly kreinik in this photo! I can't believe I finished page 1!!! This is really only the product of two days of stitching. As Sunday was Fathers Day, so was busy and didn't touch it. Then Monday and Tuesday I never picked it up as I had to have some tests done at the clinic and was there for two hours both those days then had headaches afterwards so was unable to work on it then! 

So! My 2nd HAED page finish for the year! I'm knocking them out! I'm really happy/proud of my progress so far! 

So! 7,840 stitches done, 19,520 more to go!!!

Flower Bride Progress

Last time:

Today (5 days later)

She's coming along. Still kinda slow but I had some doctor appointments this week so they cut into my stitching time. I did finish her left eye, and i think it looks funny. Too dark somehow. What do you think?

I really wanted to have this page done by months end, but not sure that's gonna happen, we will see. Wish me luck! 

Flower Bride Progress

Today, after 4 days work:

I had a really busy weekend so I only got about 45 mins work in on it on Friday and no work on it on Saturday, but not too bad. It's getting there! A lot of what I worked on was the pale areas above her head, so it's kind of hard to see the progress there. The halo of flowers that her veil is attached to is a pain in the neck to work on! Lots of confetti. But press on, I will!

My first HAED page finish!! Woohoo!!

You can see her face coming into play now. There was so much confetti in the lower left, as well as the start of her lips and eye. But her cheek was made up of large areas of the same color. Well, only 8 more pages to go... But not really as 5 of those pages are only partial pages. So I have 3 more Whole pages and then 5 very small partial pages to finish. I really love watching the picture emerge within the midst of stitch after stitch after stitch. 

Well next I will be pulling out Mystic Dragon and finishing page 1 of it. We will see how long it takes. I really don't enjoy stitching that one. If I find that I just hate working on it I will set it aside and pull out something else. But we will see how the next few days go with Dragon.

Sea of Roses Progress!

This one is coming along...I am really enjoying my adventures with these heaven and earth design projects!! I feel like I stitch so slow! I see other people working on HAED pieces and they seem to ZOOM through pages like no tomorrow....But I try to realize this is not a race. this is me, just relaxing and enjoying my hobby. I'll get there in the end.

Flower Bride Progress and New stash!

Well, I want to say that I am still enjoying HAED Flower Bride project....but, we fought this time around! I'm basically to the two worst areas of this piece (in my opinion) In the upper right hand corner is tons and tons of Kreinik Braid. and most of the rest of it is a lot of confetti. so I spent much of this time around trying to pick the lesser of the two evils! I did a little of each, and got some work in on it, but I must admit, I spent too much time just staring at the chart Thinking "Ugh"

 

So this is my progress the last time I posted on the 30th of Dec.

And here it is after working on it these past 5 days:

 



I do see progress, but it is SLOW going...I will push on! I will endure!!

 

I found out the Heaven and Earth Design site was having their 50% off Winter clearance sale, ( I think that's what it's called)  So I treated myself to three more new ones!!!  I got "Christmas Mailbox", "Queen of Hearts", and "Rose Angel".  And there were so many more I wanted to get! But I was good and only got these 3...Who knows when (if?) I will ever get to them, but I hope I do....one of these days. 

So, my weekend is off to a good start with the arrival of my new pretty patterns!  I have no plans for Super Bowl Sunday, but I hope those who do enjoy the game, and be safe out there.....Go Seahawks!!

 

 

HAED Flower Bride, and Precious moments progress

Well, here is my progress on HAED Flower Bride. I am really enjoying this piece. It seems to be working up pretty quickly. I'm avoiding the confetti intense areas for now.

 I'm totally bummed that I just noticed a flaw in my fabric way down at the bottom of the piece. So it's basically probably in the last 2 pages of the project which is mostly just a bunch of her flowy dress, so I may just not stitch that last row of pages. I don't think I can stitch over it. So, we will see.

 Here's a close up of the messed up area of the fabric. it's about in the center way down by the roll of fabric.Kinda hard to see.

 And next up my parents gift. I am off count and annoyed with this, but I'm fudging it and pushing through. I don't have time or patience to start over. I hate these patterns. I always get off count with them, their half stitches and back stitching makes no sense! But it still looks cute and like a Precious Moment, so I don't think anyone will notice!

I will be posting a "End of the year wrap up and goals for 2015" post for tomorrow. I hope everyone has a good and safe New Years eve celebration, whatever you choose to do.

New Stash!!

So! I've been stalking the Heaven and Earth design Site for about a week now. And I finally did it! I bought 4....yes! FOUR! new Patterns! I think that these should keep me pretty busy for a LOOONG time! I told myself I would wait until I finished "Sea of Roses" before starting any of these....but I don't know that I'm gonna be able to! I know the minute they show up in my mailbox I'm gonna want to kit them up and start right in! I still need to get some 25 count Fabric, and of course all the flosses! That will definitely put a big fat dent in my pocket book.  But when these beauty's are hanging on my wall, it will all be worth it! Now if I can just sustain from looking at their site and adding to my wish list....which already has 80 things on it!!! Enough to last me 10 or 20 lifetimes of stitching!!! 



Sea of Roses...Progress!

Here is one that hasn't seen the light of day in a while. It's Heaven and Earth Design freebie: Sea of Roses.

So you can see there is quite a bit more stitching in it now! I really enjoy working on this, and have put it back into my rotation. So, I'm excited to see how much I can get done by the end of 2015. Wish me luck!!

It's official! I'm addicted!

I couldn't wait! I JUST HAD to start "Flower Bride" All those gorgeous purples and lavendars were just calling my name!

Here she is at 5 hours of work. I used to keep track of my hours on my projects, and had gotten out of the habit. But, I am just curious as to how long one of these takes. Mind you, this is a SMALL one, so I'm sure not as long as a "real" one would take. But, the past 3 days, since I started this (on Dec. 12) I can hardly put it down! I can't believe HOW many shades of purple/pink are just in that tiny bit I've done right there.  I think there are 6 or 7 shades there! WOW! 

And here is what the pattern looks like!  Page 1. This project is 8 pages, but 4 of those pages are not full pages. barely like 15 rows or something, not bad at all. So, we shall see. I don't want to switch out my projects now! I just want to work on this one forever!! 

 

 



 Also, in my last post I mentioned that I would be working the next piece (Sea of Roses) on 25 count. I have decided to also do it on 18 count. At 25 count, finished size would only be 6 inches by 7 inches. That's like something you frame to set on a desk, in my opinion...lol, so have once again decided I will be stitching it on 18 count, this bringing it to a nice hefty 13 by 14 size. Much better for a wall hanging.  But! ONE day! I WILL buy one of the monstrous sized ones and HAVE to do it on 25 count, lest it cover an entire wall! THAT would be interesting! LOL

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! And tips and notes on working an HAED piece. I am so excited to finally be diving into these patterns! I have actually been thinking of naming 2014 "The year of The BAP" And just go crazy and start a bunch of my Kustom Kraft projects, as well as these HAED pieces too.  But that is still yet to be seen. I DO love working on my Christmas ornies as well.

OMG! OMG! OMG!!

Well, people, I have slid over to the dark side....ok, ok, maybe not what I should call it, how about the crazy that is Heaven and Earth Designs? I actually downloaded and printed two of their freebie charts!

Here is Flower Bride- by Linda Tso:

 Ok, this is SUPPOSED to be a book keep. But not when you switch the fabric from 25 cnt. to 18 count. Then it becomes a good sized wall hanging! Look at how huge that is! 

 The next one I REALLY am going to stitch on 25 cnt. fabric. But since I don't have any, I am gonna wait until after the holidays. and I get home from my trip, to order it.

These two will probably take me the rest of my life to stitch, so I may never get to any more of their designs, except that all the beauty on their page is calling me!! My favorite artist is Rachel Anderson! Those long flowy gowns? Those beautiful colors?! I want to stitch them all!!!

 

Yup, I'm in trouble! Or at least I think my wallet will be!
