Autumn Peace update

As you can see....I got my page finish on page 8 of this one!! I finished it on November 21st, and then continued onto page 9:
And here's where I got to on this one. I am STILL LOVING this one SO much! I love the colors, and it's fun, although, I have to admit this last month I have had a bit of frustration with the amount of confetti in this one, it really slows down progress. I'm just glad I really enjoy it so much!

Hope you had a beautiful Christmas!! (If you celebrate)  I pre post all my blogs, so as you can see I'm posting this on the 10th, so Christmas hasn't happened for me yet, but when this goes up I will have and I'm sure it is gonna be a great day!!

Holy cow! only 6 more days until 2018!!

DS2N update

I was able to get a bit more done on this piece, although I am sadly WAY behind my schedule I had set out for this one! I started this page on Sept. 11, and this little bit is all I've gotten done in all that time.(the bottom portion on the left) I really need to pull this out and get some serious work in on it, or I won't get it done for  along time yet. the portion I stitched was only about 1200 stitches give or take in 3 months time! I should be MUCH closer to a finish on this page!  Oh well.  Life....it gets in the way of my stitching sometimes....

Hope you are all getting lots of stitching in! Thank you for stopping by! Have a great day!

School of Dolphins update

I was able to finish the first column on page 1 and start the next column. So, not a lot of work but a little, which is better than none, right?

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season, and some wintery weather. Stay safe out there! And as always, thank you for stopping by, and also for all your lovely comments!

Progress on my problem child project! Winter Rose...

Ok! So, I started this project on Sept. 22. I RE-started it on Oct. 29th.   Remember how I said this was a plethora of newness for me? 25 count fabric, 2 over 1 tent stitch, working on q-snaps/hoop? Wellllll....apparently THIS old dog? Cannot learn new tricks!

I HATED it, at first! but I pressed on....I was just getting in the groove, working on it at a good clip, when I found a ginormous counting error....and that was when we had to say our goodbyes, and go our separate ways!

However, I really want to work on this project, and it is a project for one of the SAL's in the Full Coverage fanatics group on FB, so, I started it again....And I'm enjoying it a little bit better now...I'm still having a hard time trying to figure out how to slip this one into my rotation, but as you can see....I have done a little work on it, so...there's hope!

Thank you for stopping by, and Joyful stitching to you all!

LET THE CHRISTMAS CRAZY BEGIN!!!!!!!

Autumn Peace....More progress than most!

This is my primary focus piece, because I am stitching it as a gift for my mom, so I tend to pick it up almost daily, while the rest of my projects languish in the background crying for my attention. Not only is it a gift for my mom, but I truly DO love working on this one! So, that also probably plays a part in the fact that I have no trouble working on it for the amount that I do every month!  I have less than a quarter left of this page, then it's onto the next one!! I hope to have a finish on this page by the next time I post, but we shall see how that goes, as we are sliding into the end of the year, and holiday time is upon us. So, busy, busy times! But, I will still see a good chunk of work on it, no less, I'm sure!

I hope all my American readers enjoy Thanksgiving on Thursday, and that we can all find something to be Thankful for. Enjoy eating until your seams groan in protest, and hopefully enjoy lots of good time with family and loved ones!

Thank you again, for stopping by, and as always, Joyful stitching!!

DS2N Update

Wow! I really need to pick this one up more! I should be so much further along! I know! I feel like I say this about every project I post! Oh well, at least I got a little but of work in on it!

Thank you for taking your time to look in on my progress! And thank you for all your lovely comments!!

Til next time-Joyful stitching!

School of Dolphins update

I have no idea why, but I am having a hard time picking this one up.  I LOVE the fabric, since it's dyed (by me! ) but that's about all I love about it! It's stiff and hard to work with, so I find myself having to really push myself to pick this one up, not to mention that I STILL have not quite figured out how to rotate 4 projects sufficiently to my liking. I'll get there....one of these days, I'll have my beans straight and things will get done, but for now.....here we go!

The gray blob growth larger!! Ta-da! But not by much! I feel as if I should be MUCH further along with this, but....what can ya do? There are only so many hours in a day! But I'm glad I was able to get at least a little stitching in on it.

I hope everyone is having a great day! It's cold and rainy and generally feeling like fall today, so I'm loving it! And Friday will be my FORTIETH birthday!! GASP!!! Wow!! I don't feel "that" old, but there it is staring me right in the face! Ha! Ha!  So, I think we will be having a fun weekend full of gifts, and hanging out with my family for the weekend.

Thank you for reading! and I hope you all have a lovely rest of your week!!

Happy Fall!!!

WHAT is happening?! Another new start?!

For the most part I like only rotating about 3 projects at a time, since most of my projects are full coverage, I feel the less amount of active WIPs I've got going, the more progress I see on each one. However, I joined the "Full coverage Fanatics" stitching group on Facebook, and Septembers challenge was new starts. I couldn't pass it up! So, I started:
Winter Rose By Heaven and Earth Designs.
and here's how far I was able to get on it:
This is a project that has a plethora of firsts for me: first time stitching on 25 count lugana. (I usually opt for 18 count aida) first time tent stitching, (2 over 1) and first time stitching with a hoop. (I am an in-hand stitcher) I had to use a hoop, as number one: those holes are SO tiny, I thought if I stretched out the fabric I would be able to see the holes better. And Lugana is a very soft fabric, not as stiff as the aida that I'm used to stitching on, so it was flopping all over the place while trying to stitch in hand. I started off using Q snaps, but because the those pipes are so big around, I was having a hard time handling it, but the hoop is much better, so going with the hoop.  I had a hard time getting used to this, but now I'm in a groove with it, and loving it!! doing that tent stitch really makes the progress go fast!!  SO! Now I have 4 active WIPs going! (insert look of shock here) I'm trying to figure out the best method for rotating, but I'll get it eventually.

Thank you stopping by!! If you celebrate, I hope you have a great and fun Halloween! And I'll see yah next month!!

Autumn Peace Update....

Boy! Crazy confetti! but it's been broken up with large chunks of the black in the trunk of that huge tree, so I go back and forth between confetti heavy parts, and solid black parts, it's coming along.

DS2N update

I'm working on page 7, now I have less than 2 full pages left to do on this one! I'm getting so excited for a finish!!

School of Dolphins update

I've been plugging away at this one, and it's now a larger blob of  gray! LOL....

Hope you all have a great weekend.  my mom is out visiting us for two weeks, so I doubt much stitching will get done this month, but what can you do? I've considered living in a cave and become a hermit, but...I don't think I'd get enough light in a cave to do the stitching I love to do, do you? LOL

DS2N....I'm on a roll!

I was able to "finish" this page (page 9) and I now only have two full pages left to finish this piece!! So exciting.  Oh I say "Finished" because there is some white I still need to put in, but I ran out of the color, so for the most part, it IS done, but since I couldn't do anything more, I decided to just move on
 to....this:
Page 7.  Just a small start, but I'm so excited, this project is almost done...sorta...2 huge pages is still ALOT of stitching left to do, but when compared to the 9 I started with I say I'm gettin' close! LOL
thank you for reading! Hope you had a great month of September, and I will see you next month!

Happy Stitching!

A "Give Up" and it's replacement

So!! I'm late in posting this month, because I've been having computer problems, so sorry about that!
As you can see by my title, I have given up on my ornaments for now. I am just not enjoying them anymore, like I used to.  I find myself struggling to pull them out each month and it's become a chore to me, and since this is a hobby, I decided to not do it anymore. When it becomes a "chore" it's time to break up with a project.  I don't think I've actually given up, I'm just not in the mood for them now, so I'm thinking that maybe later on in the year, as it grows closer to Christmas, I'll feel like picking them back up again? Who knows.
As for my title? Anyone who watches floss tube knows where that reference came from! Good ole Jimmy Flosstube! LOL....that guy cracks me up! and I love Emily!! She's awesome! If you aren't watching Flosstube, go! as soon as you're done reading this to YouTube and look up Floss tube, I mean, what is your life if you're not obsessed with it?! LOL....I'm just kidding.  (To explain to those who don't know, the husband of one of the beloved flosstubers referred to her projects that we call UFO's as "give ups"...the term has been coined, and there yah go!)
So, here's August's attempt at an ornament....as you can see? I gave up! In the UFO pile it will go....for now....

However, I have found a NEW obsession, or interest....DYEING!!!! (Not to be confused with Dying) As in I'm now dyeing my own fabrics. This came about because I decided I wanted to do this piece:

I actually made this decision YEARS ago, and I had ti all kitted up and sitting in my stash pile forever!  When I went to pull it out though, I found that I had kitted it up with a Seafoam colored piece of 14 count aida. 14 count Aida!?!? No.....that was not happening....I am an 18 count aida girl all the way, 14 would just seem huge to me, and I knew I would end up not enjoying the project. So, I thought, I would look for  a hand dyed piece of Fabric online as they are all the rage.  Now as most of you know, I'm a Full coverage stitcher. Meaning that the majority of my projects are full coverage, so I find that  though I love seeing all the beautiful hand dyed fabrics out there, and think they are gorgeous, I really have very little use for them myself. However, I found myself suddenly realizing, "Here's my chance!  I can finally see what the hoopla is all about with hand dyed fabbies.  Well, I looked online, and saw a bunch of beautiful pieces, but, I was weary to buy them, as sometimes they don't actually look like the picture shown online in real life.

So, I decided to try dyeing some myself.  Here's the result:

This is my first attempt, so sure there are flaws, it's not perfect, but I like it, and think it is really pretty.  And here is my start:

There's not much there, but I'm excited about it. Can you believe this my first new "real" start since June of last year, when I started Autumn peace? (I don't count all the little ornaments.....)  So, it is nice to have a new start. The feeling of newness is exciting, and to be working on a piece of hand dyed that I made myself, makes it even more exciting, somehow.

Well, that's all for me for now. Thank you for stopping in and reading. I love all the comments you leave, and thank you for taking time out of your busy lives to see what I'm up to. It means so much to me!
Happy stitching!!

DS2N a little progress....

Oh man, have I still been avoiding this one like the plague....I don't know why!  It's getting better, but I still just never want to pull it out and work on it, even on it's allotted day in my rotation. I was able to finish the first column of the page though, and get a little start on the next one. I would love to have a finish on this page by the next time I post, we'll see how that goes!

Thank you for dropping by! Happy Stitching! Can you believe September in 2 days?!

Autumn Peace update

I was able to get just about half of page 7 done, which was my goal, so I'm hoping to have a finish on this one by the next time I post. Lets hope! It seems to be my priority piece lately, it's all I really LOVE working on lately, so it's been getting tons of love, and progress.

Thank you for stopping by! Happy Stitching!

I did it!! Less than 24 hours later!

It only took me 25 more minutes to finish this little guy after posting yesterday, so I finished it up this morning and thought I'd take a minute and post it! These little guys are so cute!

Hope you re all having a great weekend!

Friday, August 11, 2017

Almost made it, but not quite!

All I have left to do to finish my July ornament, is backstitch, and I would have finished it!  Oh well, close enough! Oh, I also need to finish up the little holly bush on the left hand side.  this is the first time I didn't finish my ornie on time for it's update post! Hoping that won't happen again. I don't know what it was, I just had a hard time pulling this one out. I'm just stuck on Autumn Peace and seem to always just want to pull it out and work on it, leaving my other two projects to lay untouched. But I will def. finish this up by next month  and have my August ornie completely done.  fingers crossed.

Thank you for stopping by, and hope you all have a great weekend! Happy stitching!

DS2N update

I was able to get a good chunk of work in on this one, tis time! I finished page 6! (Which was my goal, I'm pretty sure) and have moved down to page 9, I'm almost finished with this first column of the page. I'm starting to enjoy working more on this one, now, as you can see that the color palette has changed from all the light cream/whites of the day angel's wing, to much darker tones, which I am really enjoying quite a bit more!

So, we will see how far I can get with this one by the next time I update!
Thank you for reading! Have a great day!

Autumn Peace update!

I was able to finish page 6 in June ! WOW!

And make a good start on page 7!!
This one is the one I most like to work on! I just love all the colors! I pick it up and never want to set it back down!  Which is good, since it's a gift for my mom, and I would like to have it done for her birthday next year....we'll see if that happens.  (Her birthday is the end of April, so still got quite a bit of time.) However since it DID take an entire year to finish the first row of 5 pages and I still have two more rows of pages to finish I'm not sure how realistic it is to reach that goal. Although, I'm already on the 2nd page of this row of 5 pages, and the fist and 5th pages are only half pages, and the bottom row is made up of close to half pages I think, so it may be doable!

Giving myself a goal of a 10x10 block everyday really seems to help me stay on track!

Hope you're all doing well! We'll see you tomorrow for my last update of this month!

a VERY late June ornament fnish!

I was able to finish this on June 30th, I've just been unable to update my blog this month, just been super busy!! July is usally a busy month for us, as my husbands birthday and our wedding anniversary (12 years this year!) are in July.

So, these posts are gonna be late! Sorry!  I'm hoping to stay caught up in August!

Thank you for reading, and have a great day!

DS2N progress

This piece has really been giving me issues. Not in the sense that I'm messing up and needing to frog, or anything like that, but all those light colors in the wing there? They are driving me crazy. I hate stitching light colors on a  light colored fabric, it's annoying, and there's lots of confetti, which I must admit brings in a lot of detail, but it is a Pain in the you know what! So, still no page finish on this one yet, I'm hoping next month to have a finish on this one! I started this page on Feb. 28th.  It is time to DONE!!! Way past time!!

So, please wish me luck!!

Thank you , as always, for stopping by, and reading!! I hope you have a great sunshiney, stitch day!!

Autumn Peace progress!

Well!! I did it!! I finished page 5 of this monster!!! 5 down,10 more to go!!!  I finished my first row of pages on this, it feels so good!! It took me nearly a year to finish this row. I started it June 1 of 2016 and finished May 28 2017.  I always love page finishes, and row finishes, as it kinda feels like a milestone reached, a little finish, you know? That there is 19,688 stitches done!!

And!! Not only did I finish page 5, but I got a GREAT start on page 6!!
Here's that progress:

So! I guess you could say my stitch bug is back!!! I am hoping to have a page finish on 6 by my next post, and I'm pretty sure its gonna happen!

Thank you for stoppin' by!! Happy stitching!!

Friday, June 16, 2017

Another little finish!

I love this little ornament!! I live in the Louisiana Bayous, so we see lots of gators around here.
I think this one will be on my parents Christmas card this year, cause ever since we moved here, lots of times when I talk to my dad on the phone, he asks, "So, you catch yah an alligator yet?" LOL....

I have a good start on the next ornie in line as well.  May was a GREAT stitchy month! My stitchy bug came back, full force!! I stitched 48 hours!!! And I think Jan through April I only made it to like 20 something hours in each of those months.  I feel like I'm back!!  It feels super good!!

Hope you're all having a great June! And enjoying Summer!! I can't believe the year is almost half gone already!!

Thank you all for the lovely comments on my posts for last month! I read and love every single one, and really appreciate that you take the time to leave me a note, so thank you! I appreciate everyone who drops in to read my blog, even if you're just a lurker. Thank you for taking the time to read about and look at my stitching.

I hope you all have a wonderful day, full of stitches, and sunshine!

DS2N Progress

Here is the progress on page 6 that I was able to get finished, I am making some good headway on it, and feel really good about it, due to my new rotation, which I explained in my previous post.

I hate working with all the creams and light colors and I think it was slowing me up a bit, but I'm on a good roll with it now, so I'm hoping, maybe for a page finish on this one by the time I post again next month.

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you all had a wonderful month of May, I will see yah in June!! (oh Lordy! June already?!?!?)

Autumn Peace update

Well, I am finally seeing some real progress on this one.  As just recently I have switched up my rotation to better suit me (again....lol)

My old rotation I stitched two hours a day: I worked an hour on Autumn Peace everyday, as it is my focus piece, and then I alternated the other hour between Ornaments (3 days a week) and Day Surrendering to Night (4 days a week)  However, so many times, I would end up just working on one project and never switch over to the other one, or I wouldn't find a full 2 hours a day or with my stitch bug being what it's been the first of the year, who knows? For whatever reason, I just never seemed to get as much as I wanted to and I was getting very frustrated.

So, now I still work on the 2 projects a day, but instead of an hourly amount, I have a stitch amount. Except for the Ornaments, they still just get an hour on their 3 days. The other two full coverage pieces, I try to get a full 10x10 block done everyday that I work on them. Which can sometimes take a while, depending on the amount of confetti or whatnot. Sometimes it doesn't take much time at all, it just depends on if there are large chunks of one color, or a lot of confetti. But I have been doing so much better with keeping up on my goals this way. I think being able to SEE the amount put in every day is really helping me be motivated, as apposed to saying "Ok, I've got an hour, lets see how much I can get done", and then sometimes feeling very frustrated if I run into a large amount of confetti and not seeing as much progress as I'd like.

This time I was able to finish over 3 columns worth of stitching, and I've got less than 2 columns left and I'll have finished this page, AND! the entire top row of pages (p.1-5)  So, I'm very excited about that!! So, I am really hoping to be onto the next row of pages by the time I post again, next month! Wish me luck!

Sorry for the rambling! Thank you so much for reading, and until next time....happy stitching!

April Ornament

Here is the little cutie for April!! And he is the last Snowman in the series.  The next series in the book is a "Noah's ark" theme,  so, looking forward to those. I have got a small start on the First one in the series, but it was such small progress, I decided I'll wait to share it next month.

So, still staying on track with these! Even if I get very little stitching done overall,if I am still able to get these little ornaments done (one each month), I'm happy!

Thank you all for your lovely comments on my last months postings. It means so much to me that you take time to stop in and read and say hello. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I have been able to find more time for stitching lately, and that makes me so happy! I am really starting to see some significant progress on my larger pieces, especially, so that makes me feel accomplished.

Well, next up will be an update on autumn Peace. Thank you for reading, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend! See yah next time!

Day Surrendering to Night Update

Well! I did it!! I finished page 3, and moved down to page 6....sounds like a great feat, right? Nope, not when the last time I posted I was on the last column of page 3 to begin with, and I haven't even finished the entire first column of page 6 yet....

One day soon, I hope I can break out of this stitch slump....here's hopin'.

That's it for now, I am keeping my fingers crossed I may have a finish on page 6 of this one by the time I share again next month! We'll see how that goes!

Thank you for reading, and until next time....Happy stitching!

Thursday, April 20, 2017

Autumn Peace, a little progress, but progress none the less!

Things really have not changed in the stitch slump area of things, so I am STILL working on page 4 of this project!  I think every month so far this year, my goal for this one has been to finish page 4....it STILL hasn't happened yet!!

Where you see my needle parked there at the top is where I was the last time I shared progress on this....2 months ago! so, in 60 days, I've not even finished three entire columns!! Good news is I've only got a tiny bit of one column and one whole column left to see a page finish on this! MAYBE just MAYBE I'll actually reach that page finish goal by the time I share this again.   I really miss my stitch bug!!!

Well, I hope you all had a lovely Easter (if you celebrate it) or are enjoying some nice spring weather wherever you may be!

Well, that's it for now, I'll be back in ten days to share progress on Day Surrendering to Night.  So, until then, happy stitching!!

Ornaments update

I am back!!! So sorry for missing my posts for last month! I have seriously been in a huge stitching slump!! Still not stitching much at all this year! I just am not feeling it! I've just been busy doing other things, I guess. But, enough about all that, I'm back with a new update, so lets get started, shall we?

First up was my ornament finish for February:
He's such a cute little guy, and I thought it befitting for me to have stitched that pattern in February, since It's all about Valentine's and Love. I love the little mouse sitting up on top of the sign too! he was fun to stitch!

Next up was my March Ornament finish:
So! although I've been in a huge stitch slump, I have been keeping up with my ornaments...Thus far!  I have yet to start my April Ornament, but I will, soon....ish....I hope!

Thank you so much for reading! I appreciate that you take the time to stop in and see my meager progress(as of late....) I will be posting my update on Autumn Peace next, in about 10 days! See yah then!

DS2N Progress

Gah!! again with the slow progress! I finished one column on this plus a little tiny bit up the on the upper right. However! That is the last column for this row of pages! so when I'm done with this column, I can move down to page #6 My goal for the month is to finish this page and get at least 1 or 2 columns done on the next page. We'll see how that goes!

I'm hoping that progress picks up next month! Wish me luck!

Thank you for stopping by! Hope you all have a lovely day! See yah next month!

Autumn Peace...progress.

Well, as I wrote in my last post, very little got done by way of stitching last month due to my husband returning from a 6 month deployment, so I did not make it to my goal on this one! Not even half way to my goal! Which is sort of frustrating, but oh well, what can yah do? Family comes first! So! here's where I'm at with this one:

I finished one and maybe a half of the second column on page 4....pathetic...oh well, better luck to me this month. I am hoping to have a finish on this page by the time I share it again in March. Keep your fingers crossed that I am able to accomplish that goal!

Thank you for reading! Hope you have a wonderful day!

Ornament finish and progress!

Well! I was able to finish my first ornie of the year for January! He looks like this:

I think he came out super cute!

Next I started this one:
It's a snowman holding a sign saying "I love Snowmen" I was able to get most of the sign done, but still have a long ways to go! So! even though I only finished 1 ornie so far, I'm on track on my goal to finish 1 a month, and I'm hoping to be able to keep up with this trend.

Progress on Stitching as of late has been a lot less than normal, due to the fact that hubby is now home!! so, we've been spending time together as a family, and such, which totally cuts into the stitching, but that's alright...stitching will always be there, but I got 1/2 a year of time with him to make up for!

Thank you all for reading, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Thank you all for the lovely kind comments!
See yah next time!

Day Surrendering to Night Progress

I have been working on page 3 of this one, it's only a partial page, so it shouldn't take too long, and I hope to be done with it, and down to page 6 (directly under 3) by the time I share this one again. I would really like to finish this piece this year, but something tells me I will get close, but won't quite make it. But that's alright. Then I should have two Full coverage piece finishes to celebrate next year!  (Autumn Peace and this one) But I will push on! There are only three partial pages (3,6, and 9) then two full pages (7 and 8) and some fill in on page 5, and this one will be DONE!!!  I'm super excited!

Thank you for reading! Hope you are having a great day! See yah next month!

Autumn Peace....Another Page Finish!

So! Pages 1,2, and 3 are now finished! And page 4 has a tiny bit of a start. There is a ton of black in page 4, so I hope that 1) it goes fast, all those large chunks of the same color, and 2) I don't get bored of stitching black for what will seem like forever!

My goal for this one for this month is to finish the first 4 columns of page 4, so we shall see if I do it by the time I post again!

I hope you're all having a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy New Year!!

I know, we're already 11 days into the new year already, so I'm a bit late on that greeting, but close enough.
I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas,(Or whatever holiday you celebrate!) and New Year.  Me and my daughter had an amazing time, visiting my family in Southern California. Got to see a lot of family, and enjoyed lots of fun.

However! I was not able to get much stitching done, which is fine! Hanging out and visiting with family was more important. I only took my ornies with me to work on while I was there. I never trust myself to take any of my full coverage projects with me when I travel, afraid I'll lose them, or components of them, and then I'd be broken hearted, so, I took my faithful traveling companions....my ornies.
This is what I got done:
I have been working on him a tiny bit this month since I've gotten home, but, my goal for this one this month is to finish this one. I would like to finish one ornie a month this year. So, hopefully I can do so. I don't know why, but they always seem to get shoved out of the way so I can work on my big projects. I guess because in my head I think that they aren't as big so don't need as much love, so I put them off until it's later in the month, then I just end up running out of time, or something? Who knows?  But I do want to try to finish 12 during 2017, or one a month.

I was going to post an end of the year wrap up post, but I just never got around to it, sorry. Now that I'm having to post on my computer it's just such a pain, so I put it off, and now here it is the 11th of the month, and I'm just ready to move forward. I can say, however, that I WAS able to complete one of my major goals for last year...finishing Sea of Roses. My first Heaven and Earth design finish! And I am SO proud of it, and totally looking forward to more full coverage finishes very soon....possibly by the end of 2017? We shall see!

I hope the first of the year is treating everyone good so far, and you're all well on your way to meeting those New Year goals, and resolutions, and enjoying lots of stitching.
And hope everyone is safe from all the crazy weather out there!

Thank you for reading, and I'll see yah soon! Have a great week!
