My biggest finish this year!

My biggest goal for 2019 was to finish Flower Bride. I started it on 12/12/13 and finished it on 12/13/19. So 6 years and 1 day!  I’m really happy to have it done.
Here is where I was when I picked it up the first time this year:

And here it is finished:

I will be sharing my progress for the year in the next few posts.
Hope you had a great year, and we’ll meet back here for another year of Joyful Stitching! Happy 2020 everyone and as always, thank you for reading and all the support over the years!

A cute Christmas small

I have done pretty bad on my Ornaments goal this year. I wanted to finish 10 this year. I think I’ve completed two! Oops... oh well, I’ve gotten a lot of other fun stitching in, thanks to the Full Coverage Fanatics group on Facebook. I love their challenges and SALs. So I’ve seen lots of progress on my other pieces and that makes me happy.  I am hoping to finish these guys by years end. And then setting a much smaller goal for Ornies next year.

I am so excited for stitchy goals for next year. I’ve been playing around with rotation ideas and goal and challenge ideas for next year. I love planning out what I want to accomplish in the new year. Anyone else do this?

Well I’m off to get more stitches in!! Hope you’re all having a good day, and getting lots of stitching in to finish off this year strong.

Thank you for reading! Joyful Stitching!!

Almost to a finish!! So close!

I am so close to a finish on my Flower Bride piece!! I got in 850 stitches this month and will finish it next month, before the end of the year. Should be easy enough!

I really want to keep working on it, but I have so many other stitchy goals to finish this month. So I’ll let this one rest until next month. I’m super excited to see it finished!

Well that’s about all I’ve got for now. Thank you for reading, and until next time- Joyful Stitching!!

Progress on The Gaze for October

I was able to get 2400 stitches in on this piece this month! Now that I’m not on the road, I can put more time into my stitching. I think he’s starting to look pretty good! He’s got one eye.

I don’t know when I’ll be pulling this one out again, as I will be focusing on Flower Bride until the end of the year. And to fulfill SAL requirements in Full Coverage Fanatics (FB group) I will be devoting the rest of my Stitching time on Winter Rose.

Can you believe there are only 2 more months left of 2019?!  I’m excited for the holidays, but I’m definitely looking forward to next year Stitching Goals and challenges. I love this time of year, not only for the festive holiday feeling, but also this is when I start planning for  stitching and reading  goals and challenges for the following year.

I hope you all have a lovely month of November as we start wrapping up this year and looking forward to next year and all the holiday festivities.

Hopefully you will find time to get lots of stitching done.
Thank you for stopping in!!

I’m back! I think...?

Well we made it to Alaska!   Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my last post. Yeah, it’s been an adjustment, but I think I’m gonna like it here. I am still stitching, but also busy with some new life things as well. Of course the move to a new place, and I am now working part time, which is a new adjustment, I haven’t worked out of the home in ten years. So, trying to balance work life with stitchy life and family life is a bit of a challenge, but so far I think I’m surviving ok.

Here is where I’m at on Flower Bride. I have made it a goal to finish this piece this year. I think it’s doable. There are only about 2000 stitches left to finish her up. So, that’s what I’ve been trying to focus on for now. We will see how it goes.

I’d also like to try to update here on the blog more. I know we are almost done with the year, but it’s never too late, right?  But now that I’m pretty much settled in I think I can devote a bit more time to the blog.

Thank you all for reading and I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween, if you celebrate.  I cannot believe we’re sliding into the home stretch of this year! It went so fast!! Holidays are upon us!!

Happy Stitching everyone!

Been busy, but still getting some stitches in!

Sorry about all the wrinkles! But I wanted to show you how far I’ve gotten with Flower Bride! I’m so excited!! I’m now stitched all the way to the very bottom of what I’m going to do on this design. There are still 2 more pages down past where I am, but it’s all just dress, and I didn’t feel the need to put it in. Plus I had a slub in my fabric which ended up being a hole. So I have less than 2 full pages left until I finish this! So, now I’m making this a focus on a finish piece, and would like to have her done by years end.
Which may be a feat, since we are currently in the middle of moving from Louisiana to Alaska. We haven’t left Louisiana yet, but it’s been crazy busy getting everything done. So, the moving (ie: Road trip) will happen the end of the month. So things have been a little nuts around here, but I get stitches in where I can. I’m still trying to keep up with the “By the Numbers “ SALs  at the Full Coverage Fanatics group on Facebook. So wish me luck!!

As always, Thankyou for taking the time to read my post, and I hope wherever you are or whatever you’re doing, you’re able to get lots of enjoyable stitching in!

Happy Stitching!! Have a great week!

Another finish!!

I finally got this little guy done!! I don’t know why it seemed to take SO long!!  Guess just been focusing more on my larger pieces. Oh well, it’s done now, and time to move onto the next one in the series. Having a finish feels so good even if it’s small.

Hope you all have a great week and thank you for reading!! Happy Stitching!!

I’m happy with my progress!

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend. It’s a long weekend here in the States for Memorial Day holiday.

Thank you for reading and happy Stitching!!

Still playing catch up on blogging... Mermaids Tale progress

Here’s my progress on Mermaids Tale. I worked on this for the March 2400 Stitches By the Numbers  SAL for the Full Coverage Fanatics FB group. This was pretty easy stitching. Lots of big chunks of the same color! Purple. Purple. Purplepurplepurple.

Here’s where I was at the first of March . 2400 stitches goes a loooong way!

Thank you for reading and happy Stitching!

A Christmas small finish!

In March I totally dropped the ball when it came to blogging, and for most of April too. So I still have to catch up on March updates.

In March I was able to finish stitching this cute little Christmas ornament.  I’m now working on the next piece in the series, which are two raccoons decorating a Christmas tree. I’ll share progress on it in a few days.

Thank you for reading! And happy Stitching!

Here’s my progress on The Gaze for this month.

You can see where I’d started at the beginning of the month here:

I used this piece for the By the Numbers SAL 2400 stitches for the month of April. Wow! 2400 stitches really amps up the progress. You can see the wolf’s first ear all finished. I really enjoy working on this project so much.

April progress on Flower Bride

Here’s my progress on Flower Bride for the month of April. I used it as my  1200 By the Numbers SAL piece in the Full Coverage Fanatics group on Facebook. I was able to finish page 3 and get almost half way finished with page 4!  I’m pretty happy with that progress!

Happy Stitching and thank you for reading!

A Sneak Peek into my March rotation

Because I work on so many HUGE pieces, I enjoy working with a rotation.  Since I have joined the "Full Coverage fanatics' group on FB I find that I have to change things up every month, in order to meet the criteria for various themed SALs, which is fine. Variety is the spice of life....or something like that, right?

So, for this month my rotation looks like this:

1st-24th Mermaid's Tale (goal is 2400 stitches, to meet the Large By The numbers challenge for FCF group)
1st-12th Winter Rose (goal is 1200 stitches, to meet the small By the Numbers challenge for FCF group)

13th-14th- Ornament (Just to get a tiny break from working on the Big projects)
15th-31st Flower Bride (goal is 1000 stitches to meet the "Vintage themed SAL for FCF group)
24th-31st- Ornament (Hope to finish this. It's about half way finished thus far)

So, the idea is to work everyday on my Challenge pieces the first part of the month, 100 stitches on each a day, until I've reached the goal. Then I switch and work on my ornament or my themed SAL piece at the end of the month.

I'm hoping this works better for me and helps me not end up cramming like crazy to get the challenge pieces done by months end. So, even if I run a little over on my "deadline date" I still have some wiggle room to keep working on them before the end of the month.

Now I need to work out a posting schedule for this blog. I used to try to post on the 5's of the month, but somehow things just kinda fell apart....ugh...anyway. or maybe just post when I finish my goal for each piece for the month? I don't know... I would do "WIP Wednesday", and post progress on all of them on Weds. I don't know....we'll have to see.

I hope whatever your goals may be for the month (if you set them) that you are able to reach them, and enjoy the feeling of reaching goals that you set. If you're not all crazy OCD like me, and just enjoy stitching whatever, whenever, with no set goals I hope you enjoy every stitch you put in and you enjoy your progress.

And let me know in the comments....are you a goal setter? Or are you a fly by the seat of your pants kinda stitcher?
Have a wonderful stitch filled week!

A HUGE finish!!

"Day Surrendering to Night"
By: Kustom Krafts
Total of 44,522 stitches
Stitched on 18 count aida
started Feb. 1st 2014 Finished Dec. 6th 2018
Took approximately 500 hours to complete

Happy New Year!!

I am really hoping to get back into this blogging thing seriously again this year. (I don't set resolutions, but I do set goals, and this is one of my goals for the year.)

Just wanted to share this. I finished this on December 6th. It was one of my yearly goals for last year, to finish this, as I'd started it almost 5 years ago! But it kept getting pushed aside for other projects. But 2018 was the year I really wanted to have it done! And I made that goal!

2019 will not be a "huge project" finishing year, as I started way too many new pieces last year for that to happen. I am shooting for one BIG finish, (Flower Bride, by HAED) as I am almost half way finished with it, so think I may see a finish on it. Though I am counting on a lot of page finishes, which, to anyone who is a full coverage stitcher, each page finish feels like a mini finish.

I am also going to be working on my Christmas smalls again this year. I had taken a long break from them, but decided that with all these huge projects in the works, I wanted to try to get some smalls in here and there, just to break it up a bit.

I thank you for dropping in, if you have stuck in there with me even with my huge break from blogging last year. It was completely unintentional, just life gets in the way sometimes. But I am really going to try to get back into it, full throttle again this year. I find that I tend to post at FB a lot more, simply because it's so much easier. But, I do love writing, so am going to try to get back into this.

There is just one snafu that may lead to my having to stop working on this blog, and that is in August, my husband will be retiring, and we will be moving to Alaska, so things are gonna change ALOT, and so I'm not sure how consistently I'll be able to keep up posting here once that happens, but we will see. I'll give it my best shot!

Thank you all for stopping in, and reading, I hope you have a great week, and I will see you again very soon! Until then...Joyful Stitching!!
