If you've stitched an Ink Circles "Cirque" piece, please help!

This will be a short post, as I have been having the itch to start a project by Ink Circles, I have not decided yet which one...I'm probably gonna eventually try to do all three in the "Cirque" series, I think they are absolutely beautiful!!

Anyway, I have a question, for those of you who have finished one of these pieces, can you tell me how many skeins of overdyed floss I will need (or there abouts) so that when I order my materials, I know about how many I should get? That would be so helpful!! I am so excited about this. I have been wanting to do one of these for a long time, ever since I finished BoInk in 2009. And now that I am soooo close to finishing that monster "Howling at the Moon", I have been thinking that ordering and stitching one of these would be a great reward for my accomplishment! =)

Thank you all for your wonderful comments on my found project, and my Christmas Cards!! You are all so wonderful!!

I wish I could help you with this one, Lana, but I haven't stitched one yet - altho I do have a Cirque chart. :) I bet if you contact Tracy thru her website, she'd be able to answer your question. Good Luck!

Hope this helps you.
I've stitched all the Cirques, one strand of floss over one thread on 25 count lugana.

My Cirque Des Carreaux used 25 yards of 6 ply floss, but I only had a foot left over, and I stitch down to the last inch of floss when I stitch. ( I used 5 of the 5 yard Weeks Dye Works skeins.)

I didn't keep track of my floss on the other ones.
The pattern says that one is 17,000 stitches, and the other patterns are 18,730 and 19,968.
So again, more for the others than my 25 yards...

If you stitch with two strands, double that number. Add more again if you are stitching over two threads.

Each of the three patterns is suggesting the same - nine of the 8.7 yard skeins of floss.
The pattern is basing that on two threads, and 14 stitches to the inch.

They really are wonderful to stitch. If she had made 10 different patterns in that series, I would have stitched them all.
And I've already considered restitching all three again in just a different color. So I hope that you enjoy stitching them as much as I did.

So Ink Circles pattern says you'll need 78.3 yards stitching with two threads, and I'm saying you'll need at least 25 yards if you are stitching with one thread, or 50 yards with two threads.
And that would be minimum on the design with the fewest number of stitches.

You are narrowing it down a little more..., and maybe this will help you make a better guess at what you'll need.

Good Luck.

I stitched Cirque des Cercles and used Vicky Clayton Hand Dyed Fibers. She actually has a floss calculator based on the stitch count which tells you how many skeins are needed. Just google Hand Dyed Fibers and you'll find her site. The floss calculator is on the left column about halfway down. Hope this helps.
