February Mini Block

Wow! I was pleasantly surprised how well this photo showed up! Colors really pop! In real life, the two darker reds in the heart are hard to decipher...
Anyway, this is February's Mini sampler, I have a start on March's but not enough of one to show a photo, I am loving this little series, and I was originally thinking I would stitch each square with it's correlating month, but I just am enjoying it so much I want to just keep stitching on them...so I'm still undecided on that, to spread it out or just stitch it all up as fast as I want...I do have SO many projects I want to finish up this year, that maybe I should just stitch each with it's month, giving me time each month to work on my BAP's, which sadly, even though I said I wanted to work 5-10 hours each on "Howling" and "The Abbey" that didn't happen! =( I worked maybe 2 hours on "Howling" and that is it! Oh well.
Monthly rundown:
1. Finish Letter D-YES!
2. Finish Letter E-YES!
3 Finish "Raindrops"-YES!
4. Finish February block- YES!
5. Start "I'm not Sleepy"-YES! (Got 3-4 hours in on this one!)
6. Work 5-10 hours on "Howling at the Moon"-NO! (1-2 hours at most )
7. Work 5-10 hours on "The Abbey"- NO! Didn't even pick it up!
So, I guess I didn't do TOOOO bad with goals for this month...5 out of 7 is pretty good. My goals for March will be sparse, since I am traveling and not sure how much of what will get done. So, for March:
1. Finish Letter F
2. Finish Letter G
3. Finish March block
4. Work on Howling
5. Work on I'm not Sleepy
6. Work on The Abbey
Not too bad....still 6 is alot, but the only DEFINITE ones are 1-3...the others I've decied not to put specific number of hours, just to pick the thing up and work on it. No pressures. We shall see how I do!

Just a quick note...

Just to let you all know, we never made it to the states...but thank you all for asking. I feel bad that I didn't make it to the funeral, but I tried my hardest...it's just SOOOO expensive to fly commercial, and the (free) military flight I was to take never went out,it was cancelled. So, just wanted to let you all know, however, the upside of that is I have been able to hit up a bunch of your blogs to leave comments! I always feel so out of the loop when I go so long and not stop in...I can be such a lazy blogger...sorry! Plus, I use google-reader, but I am thinking that I am gonna scrap that, and just read off my blogroll on my sidebar, it is so much easier to keep up with the newest news...although when I go for long periods of time, it is nice to go back and catch up...hmmm....my google reader right now has over 1000 feeds! It can just get so overwhelming!! HOW do I get caught up?!

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my finish of "Raindrops" I will be sharing my February block freebie later!

Raindrops-finished!

Well, here she is, all finished! (I assume it's a girl-she's wearing a pink bow!) Although I fear this photo doesn't look a whole lot different from the last one I posted of it. But now it is all filled in!

Sorry for the creases! oops. now I only have three more pieces to do in this series, and I can start making it into a quilt....for who? I have no idea! But oh well, it's been in my "WIP's" pile forever! And I just want to finish it, to say that I finished it!

A Photo...

Here are letters D and E of the Mini-Sampler Alphabet book by Rainbow Gallery. I have already made a start on F but not enough of one to warrant a photo yet!
Well, I am still in Japan...we haven't left yet. But hoping tomorrow the plane will take off. It is so hard all this waiting around....you know how it is, you get all super excited to go on a trip and you are all ready then..."Nope, you're not going today"...I feel restless...like I just want to go already!! Oh well, I can work on stitching, I guess!
I am going to write a few more posts with photos right now and date them for later so that you will still be able to enjoy, and I won't have to feel bad if I don't get back to this blog for a bit! I always feel weird... sort of a pressure to keep up with it. Especially since this year I swore that I would, and already, I'm falling behind. I'm falling behind in my book blog also, so if you read that one as well, sorry...I'm already reading my 19th book of the year and only written something like 5 or 6 reviews...oops!
Well, off to post some more! Thank you to everyone who left such wonderful, encouraging comments on my sad news yesterday. It's a tragedy, and I feel so bad for my family who are going through this painful time. So, I thank you all for your prayers and thoughts, I am so appreciative for your friendship!! My blogging friends are the best!

Going back to Cali...

First off I would like to thank all my new followers for following, and I hope I haven't disappointed you, as I've not been blogging, I don't know why! I'm still stitching and have finished 5 things this month! And I have yet to share photos! I really should do that today as I don't know when I will get another chance to. I have to leave to go home (California) for a funeral tomorrow. We were supposed to go out today but it didn't happen. So...

And I am going to try to hit up a few of your blogs and leave comments here when I'm done with this post...this morning when I looked at my google reader I had over 1000 feeds!! So, got quite a bit of reading to catch up on! And commenting and I guess I should try to dig out my camera and take photos of my finishes so that I can post them, as I don't know when I will have another chance after we leave. We are supposed to come back in about 2 weeks, but I may stay longer if my family needs me. So...anyway, it's a bitter sweet time righ tnow for me, as I get to go home, and get to see my family and some friends, but I wish it wasn't for a funeral.

It's my cousin's funeral, he passed away after a long battle with cancer, he was only in his 50's, which is young still. If you are into praying, please keep the Mauck family in your thoughts and prayers, I know they are going through a very hard time right now. My cousin Scott has three sons and two grandbabies and a lovely wife he left behind. I would greatly appreciate it, and if you could toss up some good thoughts and prayers for my travels that would be great too! I have a Looooong flight ahead of me (two actually, Japan to Hawaii, then Hawaii to California) So, that's what is up with me.

I plan on trying to catch up on blogs today...Facebook has been frustrating me lately as it's changed it's format and everything is so much slower now, I can hardly ever sign into my games or anything...it's annoying, so maybe this is just what I need to focus more on the blogosphere and not so much on Facebook.....Oh but my poor Fishies....in Fishville...oh boy, I need help! LOL

Progress: Raindrops...

Don't be fooled...it looks done, but there is actually quite a bit of white to fill in the clouds, left yet. So, basically it's done, but I still have to fill in all that dreaded white...ugh....but ithought it done enough to get a start on the third in the series- "I'm not sleepy", however, there wasn't enough progress to warrant a photo yet, but wanted to show my "sorta finished" Raindrops lamb today. Next time I post I will probably share some Howling at the moon, I am not even sure if I have much progress to show...so maybe not, but I know I'll have my February checkered square finished and possibly Letter D in my mini-alphabet sampler done here soon, so maybe I'll show that next time!

Ok, off to read "The Historian", it's an amazing book! It was the monthly pick for one of the online reading groups I'm in at Goodreads.com. I am really enjoying it!! It is a nice rainy day to curl up on the couch with a cup of tea (or coffee) and a great book!

First finish of 2010!!

Sorry this is sorta fuzzy, but it is overcast and cloudy today, so this is about as good as its gonna get. This is my first finish for the year. It is a freebie found at the Rainbow Gallery website, and the designer is Erica Micheals. I plan on doing the entire years worth of these little guys. Right now I'm about half finished with February's. I love these little guys, they are small and easy to finish.
I want to share some more progress photos with you, as I worked on "Raindrops" This weekend, but I am kinda bombed out on pain pills, since I had to have my wisdom teeth pulled on Friday and am still recovering. The pain keeps shifting from side to side, and it is kind of annoying...oh well. At least it is done and over with.
Also, I want to thank everyone who left such supportive comments on my last post! I was so aggravated!!! And I apologize if my tone or wording was offensive, but I just get so sick of other people ruining something that I enjoy!! There's no need for it, and I just blew up....sorry!!
Anyway, I was thinking last night, as I lay in bed, in pain, waiting for my meds to kick in, about my goals for February. And here they are: We shall see how it goes!
1. Finish February checkered Block
2. Finish Letters D, and E in Alphabet mini sampler blocks
3. Finish "Raindrops"
4. Get a good start in on "I'm not Tired" (Lamb series #3)
5. Work on "Howling at the Moon" (5-10 hours at least)
6. Work on "The Abbey" (5-10 hours)
So, those are my goals. I am thinking that I should get more stitching in this month, as I am pretty much caught up on reading for the this month. In order to reach my 75 book goal I need to read 6 and a quarter books per month, and I just finished #12 for the year last night, so I'm done with this months' quota. Although I know I will still read like crazy...lol. So, I am going to concentrate on stitching this month.
