But I think it's coming along, slow and steady, but at least there's some progress.

Yes the dark is hard to stitch on but it's so worth it. The colours on this project are striking.
I totally agree! That black background really makes the colors Pop! :)

Try to place a lamp UNDER your stitching - this way you might see the wholes a bit easier :)
Oh, I could be wrong, but I may have this dragon started in my UFO pile. I look forward to seeing more progress to know for sure! How fun!
