Thrifty haul!!

I'm super excited about this because this never happens to me! 

So! We went out of town to visit with friends over the weekend. And they know that I love to scour Goodwill for books. I'm a huge reader and I love being able to find great books for super cheap! 

Well after I'd finished pilfering the book aisle, I took a quick gander through the rest, you never know what you might come across. 

So I was about to go past an aisle with just a bunch of random stuff on the aisle when I saw what looked to be two floss boxes stacked on top of each other. I could tell there was something in them, but I was thinking someone probably used it to store beads or fishing lures. 

But I took a closer look anyway. Here's what I found:

Two boxes full of DMC already bobbinated and labeled! And there are some needles and extra bobbins in there as well!! Both these together cost me 7$!!

I could NOT believe it!! 

Anyway. I had a great day at goodwill!! Two boxes of DMC floss and 20 books!! I was so happy with my treasures!

Not bad. I'm so happy! Got half this page done! That was my goal for the month! Hoping to finish the bottom half next month. I love this piece!! It's so much fun to work on!

Sea of Roses progress!

Wow! I haven't been around much this month... Been busy with some other things. Had house guests, and bad weather (flooding) that kept My daughter home from school. Errands and appointments, just been busy. 

Plus I am still trying to figure out a good rotation and so I seem to just be picking up whatever I feel like, so when it comes day to post sometimes I feel as if there really isn't much to show, so I just skip it. Just being a bad blogger! 

One project I have seemed to really gravitate towards has been Sea of Roses, so here's progress:

I have been addicted to this one!! I think she is so pretty!  Just need to finish her nose and an eye and her face is pretty much finished.

Finish number 2 for 2016

I'm really enjoying working on these little snowmen. I'm gonna miss working on them once I'm done with the series. 

This one stitched up super quick. I finished it in 4 days! So now I'm working on DS2N, which I shall share progress of the next time I post!

A new start!

So! When my mom was here last month, we were talking about some of my stitching projects, and I was showing her some of what I was working on as well as some of my stash. 

Weeeelll.... When I showed her this:

She loved it so much, so I've decided to stitch it for her.

Here's my progress thus far:

That is roughly 1000 stitches. In about 5 hours time. 

I'm working 2 over 1 on 22 count, tent stitch. 

This is my first time stitching on a higher count fabric than 18 and my first time stitching in tent stitch. I think the coverage is ok. Not great, but it's not bad. So, yeah. Another BAP full coverage piece. (15 pages) I'm glad it's stitching up so quickly.

So far I've worked on this page (3) for a little over 11 hours. 11 hours to do that much!! This is gonna take awhile. There was a lot of confetti in the first 2 columns, now I'm getting into more larger chunks of color so it's going a bit faster, thank goodness! I'm still really enjoying this project.

Another "finish!!
