It is waaaay too early to be up.

It's Saturday morning at 5:36 am, and ugh, I am wide awake...sorta...as I have to be at work at 6:30 this morning. The thing of it is, I had to work until 10 pm last night!!! So by the time I got hom and chatted with hubby a bit, and tried to read to settle down for sleep, it was after 11, and of course it was almost 11:30 bthe last time I'd looked at the clock.

My alarm went off at 4:50 this morning, and I was surprised to feel wide awake, I jumped right up and got my coffee. I thought "Well, I only have a bit until I have to get ready for work, I don't know what to do with myself" so promptly plopped myself in front of the computer to drink my coffee, peruse the blogs, and wake up a bit.

The bad thing about that is of course I read stitching blogs, and now I just want to curl up with my own stitching, but now it is about time for me to start getting ready and head out... :( So, I thought I'd leave a little note here.

I am still working pretty steadily on my lil' snowman dude. I have the blue background filled in on the left side, down to about where the long smattering of snow is, it starts from the thumb and goes up to the sign, (I know theres lots of smatterings...lol) I also started to backstitch the outline of the mitten itself, and have gone across the top and down to about the middle of the thumb on the left hand side. So, though I have no pics, I just gave you a tiny bit of an update! ;)

Well, I think I may hurry up and get ready for work, and then try to get some stitching in anyway...yesterday I didn't work much on snowman because I spent a good portion of the day with my book. I am reading "Ghost tales of Texas" About different supposedly haunted places in Texas...I can't seem to put it down. So I give in, and sat in bed with coffee and book for a good 4 or 5 hours. Then looked at the time and realized there was only about an hour until I had to get readyf or work last night and decided to pick up my snowman.

Sorry this is a rambly post, I guess I will go get ready for work now...oh my ankle, it is hurting this morning! =( I hope I can make it standing for 6 hours! All I know is when I get home, I'm taking a nap, before I do anything else! Hope you all have a nice (maybe/hopefully) stitchy Saturday!

Finally!!! Photos!

Yup, you read the title correctly, I actually was able to find my camera and snap a few pics of what I have been working on. For the most part it has been snowman #6. I am getting so close to a finish on this lil' guy! I just basically have the background color and finish some of the white on the snowman and do the backstitch and that is it!! I must say I am excited, to finally be at the end of this "6 piece" project.

Also today I decided to pull out "Howling at the Moon" and work on it for a bit. I only put about an hour or an hour and a half of work in on it, but I thought I'd share a photo anyway. I really hope to finish this first page by the end of March. And since I will be done with the snowmen series very soon (hopefully by the end of this week) I am thinking this won't be a hard thing to accomplish, I'd say I am more than half way finished with this page of "Howling" I just have to keep up on it.

This first photo was taken of Howling on Dec. 12th which is when I last shared this project here I think, and the next photo of it was taken today. So you can see the progress I've made. On large pieces like this, it is nice to compare because sometimes it feels as though you have not put any work in on it at all, because it is SOOOO big, but when you put the before and the after photos together you can see what work has been put in.
Well, off to organize more piles of junk...grrrr...moving...what a pain!

Wow!

It has been awhile...life just has been crazy busy...with packing and trying to get the house ready for sale, and stuff, then this past week, I rolled my ankle while I was doing a step aerobic work out, and sprained it rather badly, so have been out of commission because of it.

The good thing about the sprain: STITCHING TIME!!! I have actually been stitching pretty steadily on Snowman #6. I have no clue where, in this hub bub of stuff that is my house right now, my camera is tho, so no pictures at this time. But know I am making progress. I am starting to think about what I want to stitch when I am finished with these snowmen. I have a bunch of WIP's to pick up but I want to start a new one...naughty, naughty I know! I just splurged and bought 4 new cross stitch magazines, and have found a hand full of projects in each that I want to do, so maybe one of those...I think all my other magazines and patterns have gone out to storage already...I have no clue. It's very frustrating. Oh well. Guess if I can't find anything...I'll have to buy something! Oh darn! lol

Slow progress...

This week hasn't been a good for stitching. We had our house recarpeted, to start getting it ready for selling it. So we had to move all the furniture out, and then back in, and then yesterday we had the realitor in to assess it and let us know what she thought we could do to the place ot make it more saleable. Now we have a long list of "To do's"

So, this has not allowed for much stitching time. However, I have gotten a little bit more progress on snowman #6, which was slowed down even more by the fact that I had to frog three times!!! The same area!!! Grrr...So, now it should be good to go. Today I don't have anything planned, so, I am thinking I should get some stitching in.

Progress Photo and a Finish Friday!

I did it! I finally finished Snowman #5! I am sure you are all probably sick and tired of looking at my lil snowy guys here, sorry about that! The good news is, I am now onto the last and final one of the series of six so you will soon no longer be bored by having to see their cheery lil' faces here. LOL! I do love and appreciate all the wonderful comments I have recieved as I have worked through these lil guys. They encouraged me greatly to push forward.

So here are my photos:

Snowman #5 finished!
Here is progress on #6

And here is the whole collection thus far!

There is one odd ball there in the center done on dark blue Aida, I was going to originally do them on dark blue and light blue fabrics, but ran out and wasn't patient enough to wait for any to be ordered, so just decided to stitch them on white and stitch in the background colors.

These lil' guys kept me busy for the better part of 2008. I have enjoyed stitching them, although at times stitching in the background colors got a bit tedious and monotonous, but they are really cute, and I think they will look cute next Christmas adorning my new home in Japan.

However the ending of a project gets me thinking of what I want to work on next...do I start a new project or do I pull out a WIP? Hmmm...I will have to think on that! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Almost done!

Well, I have been steadily working snowman #5. He is almost done, and want to share a photo but my batteries are dead in my camera, so have decided I will just wait until I actually finish the entire thing to post a photo. I have worked a tiny bit on #6, but you know how it is when you get close to the finishing of a project it seems like that is all you want to work on, pushing forward to the finish line. I am anticipating a finish by Wednesday night on #5. So I have not been around to blogs and leaving notes or writing here much, I am trying not to be on the computer so much, using my time for more productive things. So, I am still stitching and still around, just not here in cyberspace. Maybe I should try to be here at my blog sites more...hmmm...I just always seem to get caught up on sites and then there I sit all day playing on line then I get up and feel like I have wasted so much time. So, in my next post I promise photos!!! Promise, promise Promise!

Today hubby and I both have the day off work, so we'll finally be going to see Marley and Me. I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie, but don't think that will be happening!

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day for my readers in America!

Hello out there...

I sure didn't start the year off srong with blogging, did I? Oh well...I have been stitching, as well as reading, but I have not been feeling well either, I have been down with a bout of depression lately, but I feel that it has been lifted so I will be posting here more often I hope, as I said I am still stitching alot just have not had the energy to post here. Soon, though. I have progress on Snowmen 5 and 6, as well as "Howling at the Moon" to share. in my next post maybe!
