I am Alive and Well

I have very little by way of stitching to show, but I am super excited about my new house. I love this house! and I wanted to share some pictures.
We'll start with my favorite room in the house- The master bath! It has two huge walk in closets, two sinks, a shower, toilet (in it's own room) and of course the large Jacuzzi bath tub:
 Here's the master bedroom:

The Abbey- first progress update for June

And it may very well be the only update for the month of June, we just have to see how things work out with us moving and all, I'm not sure how much time I'll have for stitching and posting, and what my internet situation will be as well.
This time around, I didn't get much in. Thank goodness for insomnia the past two nights, or I probably would have only gotten 1 hour in.  I am so stressed over this move and making sure we have everything and everything is getting done that I am absolutely EXHAUSTED come 8 or 9 p.m.  Then a few hours later after a "nap" I'm wide awake and making lists in my head of things to do, until I finally just give in and get up and get my day started. But not wanting to get into the endless list, afraid of waking up the household with the noise, I sit and stitch instead. So, that's a good thing...I guess.

They came yesterday and packed up our first load.  Which included my stitching stuff! I'm a bit nervous, as I had all my stuff in a plastic "File cabinet" looking thing, and they said I had to send the cabinet with the furniture, it was too big, and they took all the stitching out and just packed it in a cardboard box. Now I'm thinking I should have just told them "No, just leave it,and I'll send it in the big haul.", but I didn't. But hopefully it will arrived unscathed, keep your fingers crossed for me! (Just to clarify there is the "essentials load" that goes by plane, and it's things you will need right away when you get to your destination...dishes, my stitching, my books! Clothes, etc.,  The second haul is the household goods, which is basically everything else, and it travels by boat, so it can take up to two months to get to you.) So, I was between a rock and  a hard place....do I send it in it's safe plastic container but have to wait two months for it to arrive, or do I chance it to get to me safely and arrive just about the same time I do? Hard call.

But oh well, I have 5 projects in my bag to go with me:

-The Abbey
-Tree Branch, Winnie the Pooh (Which won the vote to take SVE's place, by the way! Thank you, all who voted!)
-Sunset Run
-Web of Life
- Ornaments (For Plane and car travel)

So, I should have plenty of stitching to keep me busy for awhile, plus I'll be taking my Kindle (80+ books) and 10 paper books, and a few other things to keep me occupied. Plus a 2 year old who will need to be entertained as well. So I'm hoping this month and the move go quick.

Now for goals.  I did really badly this past month, just so busy with stuff for the move.  Aaaaaand doinking around on the computer too much.

May Goals

STITCHING
-Finish Snow Valley Express
-work on page 7 of the Abbey (at least 5 hours)
-Work on "Web of Life" (at least 5 hours)

READING

-Read 4 books (I read 6!)
-Get to page 575 in DQ- Nope, didn't even pick it up! But I'm taking it on the trip though, so hopefully this month!)

WRITING

-Write 17 letters-nope, only wrote 5!
-Write 2000 words on newest piece of fiction-NOPE, didn't even work on it!

June goals

-Stitch when I can
-Read when I can
-Write when I can

I'm not making goals really for this month, I'm stressed enough without worrying about goals! LOL...So I'll pick up goals again in July, I think.

Thank you for reading! And Joyful stitching!

All settled...sorta...

Well, we're all moved into our new house, and we have internet again, thank goodness! I was going through withdrawals!! LOL We still have many boxes to unpack but things are slowly getting done.
With the move, I haven't been stitching very much at all, and when I do have down time, I have been playing my Sims 3 game, or watching season 3 DVD boxset of "Private Practice" or reading. I started a new project. It is a birth sampler for my friend, who had a little boy exactly 3 weeks before I had Alyssa. It has a little monkey on it. I got the pattern from a magazine, and it actually had a bunch of animals but I thought it would take too long to do the entire thing, and since my friend always has her son in monkeys (monkey clothes, monkey blankets, monkey bibs, monkey nursery stuff) I thought I'd just go with the cute monkey hanging from a branch and his birth info. That way maybe I will have a finish by the time the kid turns 6 months old.

I am hoping that maybe tonight after the dinner dishes are cleared up, to maybe pull out some stitching, maybe work more on the birth sampler, or The Abby, I am not too sure.

Well,I will leave you with an adorable photo of Alyssa in her little Easter dress! I need to take one without her pacifier, but the pacie sorta matches her outfit! So it works!! Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

May goals, and a rehash on last month

Well, thank you all for the encouraging comments, and after all that...the movers called my husband 3 minutes after he got home from work and informed him that they could not come today but needed to reschedule for next week! And that! Ladies and Gents is life as a military spouse! Just lovely!!! lol

Well, I don't know that I actually wanna make any sound plans for May, since we are getting down to the nitty gritty for the move...yup, less than 3 weeks!!!!! Wahoo!

Lets look at April shall we? how'd I do?

1) Finish Tombstone- DONE!!!
2) Get at least half of page 4 done on Howling at the Moon. (And finish up #5)-nope, didn't even pick this one up!
3) Put at least 2 hours in on The Abbey-Did more like 10 hours!
4) Put at least 1 hour in on CH4TH-Nope! didn't even look at it!

So, while i totally failed on two of my goals, I way over finished two! I fifnished Tombstone angel in March actually! And I know I worked on the Abbey for about 10 hours because I started listening to "The Lucky One" by N. Sparks on CD when I got serious about this one and the entire book was 10 hours long.

And I was so enthralled with The Abbey that I never even picked up CH4TH. I really should do that one of these days...however not this month.

This month:
1) Enjoy stitching
2) don't pull my hair out with stress from the move.

I know! that second one has nothing to do with Stitching, but thought I'd throw it in there anyway! =)

Last night I actually added alot of the blogs I read to my sidebar. And I visited alot of them and added myself to your public follower lists. If you want me to add your blog to my list, please let me know! I know there are alot more stitching bloggers out there who I have not gotten around to reading, and I would love to know what I am missing and then add you so I won't miss out on another post! So, PLEASE let me know, in the comments, just say "Add me, please" or something!!! Thankyou!

Hope you all have a stitchy fun weekend!

Things are getting better!

The past two days have been pretty good, I finally got a new job. I will be working 5-1 at night. But it is only about 20 hours! Which leaves plenty of time for stitching!!! And all the other things I love to do! And it will give us a little extra income until!.....drum roll....we move!!!! Hubby got orders!!! To....drum roll....JAPAN!?!?!?!?!

Hmmm...I can't get my head around it! I have never lived out of the country, can't decide to be excited or what? I am worried that I won't be able to get all the lovely stash I need...er want for the next three years! Now I am really thankful I stocked up on all that DMC floss! Plus I have a ton of stash so I think I should be good for three years. It is crazy though!

Well, tomorrow is friday and that means it's Progress Photo Friday...and boy DO I have PROGRESS to share...on not 1, not 2 or even 3 projects...but 5!!!! So will share that tomorrow! Thank you all for your friendship and comments while I was going through that rough patch the past week. I really appreciate it!
